Hello all!
I've been on here for a while, just never had the time to do an into or much of anything else really. I never know what to say in these things so I'm just going to stick to the little survey questions. But I'll fill out a bit more about myself.
I'm 23 years old, will be 24 in June. I've been a practicing Pagan for 10 years and Goth for about 7 years. I've got a few piercings but no tattoos, haven't designed one that I'm really happy with yet. I'm a horror movie and comic book geek and love a good video game (my older brother wanted a little brother). Anywho, onto the questions.
1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I'm a specialist in retail, meaning I'm a skilled lacky. Hobby wise I paint, write, make candles, attempt to sew my own clothing, am an avid reader, meditate, play video games, do tarot readings...a few more things but that's good enough.
2. Where are you from?
Colorado
3. Who is your favorite author?
Clive Barker, H. P. Lovecraft, Mary Shelley, Edgar Allan Poe, Sergey Lukyanenko, Neil Gaiman, Voltaire. I don't have a very big selection, I tend to read more books on metaphysics and paganism than anything.
4. What are your favorite films?
It's a few so be prepared.
Watchmen, The Dark Knight, Hellboy, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, V For Vendetta, Equilibrium, Pan's Labyrinth, The Devil’s Backbone, The Orphanage, 300, Cube, American Psycho, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, In Bruges, Boondock Saints, Snatch, Seven, Fight Club, Hellraiser, Evil Dead Trilogy, Bubba Ho-tep, Man With The Screaming Brain, Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Dark City, Labyrinth, Addams Family, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, The Crow, The Prophecy, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Kung Fu Hustle, The Professional, The Big Lebowski, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Lost Boys, The Goonies, Stand By Me, Drop Dead Fred, Monster Squad
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Not sure, haven't thought about it to be honest.
6. At your funeral?
Maybe Mozart's Requiem Mass in D minor.
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
To be quite honest, I don't want to die. But if I had to pick one way, in my sleep or while fighting. If I'm going to be killed, I'm not going down without a fight.
8. What kind of casket would you want?
A toe-pincher. I've always loved the shape and have a small collection of them.
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
My Victorian mourning gown. But any long flowy skirt and a corset will do just fine.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Nothing.
11. What's your favorite band?
Depends on my mood really. I could write out a massive list of all the bands I like, but if anyone cares enough, I'll tell them through messages.
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Graduated from high school, attempted to go to collage but didn't have the money do finish. I was an art major. I'm attempting to go back for alternative healing.
13. Why did you join?
To meet new people, have interesting conversations, learn new things.
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female.

Chiseling a hole in the skull to let out evil spirits and placing leeches on people.

Come on. It does. It's so choppy. And it is - remember why and how it was written.

Can anyone explain to me why a middle schooler who can barely put a sentence together is voicing her opinion on literature? Anyone?

Stone therapy, herbalism, energy work. I haven't learned Reiki yet, which is one of the things I'm going back to learn. Along with reflexology.

Declaring yourself a master of alternative healing will have exactly the same effect as "learning" it. Just a little time-saver there.
You're welcome,

Luminous literary analysis.

Actually, only the germ of what eventually became Frankenstein was written under the influence of opium. Not to imply that whether an author makes use of mind-altering substances has any bearing on the quality of his or her work.

I never declared myself a master at anything. It interests me, so I study it. Chances are I'll always study new forms of healing even if its just for fun.

I like your movie list too. I recently had the good fortune to pick up Elvira's second movie on DVD, " Elvira's Haunted Hills." If you like "Mistress of the Dark", you'll like that too.
Welcome to this place. I look forward to your contributions.
