lucky you. The two things I could even find to consider slightly goth was a Misfits wallet and shirt. And 1 Morriessy and 2 Smith shirts.

:/

There weren't any goths there, just a bunch of Metalheads buying Disturbed shirts.

i have a question
if you boycott hottopic because you think its sooooooooo Poseur, isnt that the same as going there beecause you think its so Goth?

but anways
i really dont like hottopic

mostly because theres Hello Kitty everywhere
and Charlie the Unicorn everywhere
and Fred everywhere

and it just makes me feel claustrophobic
but yes I overcome my fears and shop there
occasionally
for the Tripp pants and such

but if you really really really want to find absolutely amazing and unique attire, I strongly advise shopping at

VINTAGE CLOTHING STORES !!!!! =D

I remember all the 'goths' when I was younger only shopped at HT, and how I oh so longed to be as goth as they, being broke and all. Then I went there...and the disappointment hit.
They cater to scene/emo kids now and numetallers back when I was young, hardly any gothic items, save for the stereotypical stuffies. :C

I wonder how many people would think they would look less pathetic in buying at Hot Topic by saying it's because they only buy paleface at Hot Topic.

I'm not a huge fan of the franchise. I used to shop there for some shirts, but I soon realized that the material sucked and I was lucky to have a shirt last for over 3 months. Now a days, HT cater to the scene kids, with a couple of shirts and accessories focusing in on the hip hop subculture. It's just not the spook-filled fun house people think its supposed to be. I say go to thrift stores, or even target, and get basic clothing so you can modify and make your own stuff.

They have cute undies! Unfortunately they're made crappily. Fortunately I don't wear underwear all that often so it works for me!

My opinion is,I think its ok as long as they have the right shit from HT.
The little skinny pants....no.
The little My Chemical Romance fitted "T's"...NO!
But like the big guy pants on girl...I think thats ok...
What do you think?
They sometimes have pretty good things.

I personally don't like those big fucking tripp pants.
Plus the fact that they are made so cheaply that they would probably fall apart after a few days.
See, tripp pants would like great to me if it was in the middle of skinny pants and jumbo pants.
Kind of like normal size, but with the tripp design. That would look good to me.

Sometimes they carry jackets or hoodies that look good, but sometimes the material is thinner than my shirt, and there's no point in getting it.

I personally don't like Band tshirts. At all.
As much as i like a band, i wouldn't overpay x4 for a cheaply made tshirt just so i can advertise for them.

I hate the fact that they do this sponsor shit where most of the items turn into twilight or alice in fuckin wonderland.

In a basic sense:

They have some good items.
They are obviously sell outs.
They are WAY too overpriced.
The quality of their clothes 85% of the time (being generous) is shit.

So if i had to rate them on a scale of 1 to 10 it would be a 4.
(Again, being generous.)

I used to wander in and out of Hot Topic every so often. I still buy my music there on occasion, since it is one of very few places that carries vinyl.

Recently, they've turned into the place where all the obnoxious emo kids with daddy issues shop, and the music they play is horrendous, so I really don't care what people who shop for their clothing their pretend to be.

On principle I refuse to purchase music from them, even in the event that they do have something I want. Horrid ridiculously overpriced crapola, most of it.
I can go to the record store about five miles from my house and get the goods for ten bucks.

Normally, I quite agree. There is a local music and game resale shop that I frequent. Used CDs restored to perfect condition sell for only five to seven dollars.

The problem with shopping there is that they don't have an incredible selection of music on vinyl, and what they do have is either warped or simply isn't that great.

I'm planning on checking around for other indie music stores, but there isn't much like that around here.
