Repo Man-blatant rip-off????
I am so confused. Repo! came out and it was all good, and now Repo Man is coming out with the same exact principle except for there's no singing and no weird costumes. How is this okay and how is nobody noticing this? Is the writer the same and just trying the idea out in a film that would reach more audiences or is this just ripoffedness?

Repo man is too common of a term, and too common a theme for it to be used just once by one film. Another example of somthing like this happening is there are two twilight films, one of them being a 1998 thriller which is unrelated to the more recent one.
The fact stands that Repo! The Genetic Opera, and Repo Men the 2010 film, are completely unrelated.

Well but see that's what I'm saying. It's not just a matter of the names being the same, it's even ABOUT the same thing. Organ transplants, don't pay, repo man comes and takes the organs back. It's not just a happy name coincidence and a completely unrelated plot.

Woah woah hold the phone now... you're telling me that the new one ISN'T a remake?
...uh... well... isn't this illegal? Somehow?
I smell a boycott. That I'm starting.

Aw, f*ck all this controversy. Give me the original "Repo Man" from 1984 any day!

Looked up the synopsis.
Looks exactly like Logan's Run with Repo!'s backstory painted over it.

Was wondering the same thing about the legality of it all.... And to anyone who pulls the, "Well they were making it at the same time" kinda crap I've seen elsewhere...don't forget that RTGO was a stage show before a movie. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a rip-off. I'll probably see it at some point regardless, though. Probably Netflix it.

That site draws some shitty comparisons.
"THEY BOTH HAVE WHORES IN THEM."
It's like saying OldBoy ripped off the Mad Max series because they both had (creep) sex scenes.

Ugh my roommate has been bitching about this fairly constantly since she first heard of Repo Man. It isn't an original idea and neither was Repo, there have been stories about selling body parts and what happens when you can't keep up your end of the deal for, quite literally, ages.

I'm rather gratified to see that I was not the only one who was bemuesd when television ads for this seemingly non-musical rehash of Repo! The Genetic Opera began appearing. Seeing as I find Jude Law tedious in most films, I think I shall pass over this particular incarnation.

Repo Man had one of the best soundtracks in it, just look at it:
Iggy Pop - "Repo Man" – 5:11
Black Flag - "TV Party" – 3:50
Suicidal Tendencies - "Institutionalized" – 3:49
Circle Jerks - "Coup d'État" – 1:59
The Plugz - "El Clavo y la Cruz" – 2:56
Burning Sensations - "Pablo Picasso" – 4:01
Fear - "Let's Have a War" – 2:29
Circle Jerks - "When the Shit Hits the Fan" – 3:11
The Plugz - "Hombre Secreto (Secret Agent Man)" – 1:46
Juicy Bananas - "Bad Man" – 4:59
The Plugz - "Reel Ten" – 3:09
That is just awesome, it's got the best Black Flag song on it!

There is only one Repo Man and Emilio Estevez stars in it.

I'm glad people have already let you know what an idiot you are, so I don't have to explain how unoriginal the plot is.

I don't really know where you think you can get away with calling PJ an idiot.
She said she was confused and was asking about it.
Now fuck off and be useless and shit somewhere else.
