Introductory Post: Hello everyone!

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
My paying/day job is that of a library assistant (cataloging assistant). I do everything from copy catalog backlogged books to revamping websites, to editing badly converted bibliographic records. I work for a University library....and they like to send me to two different libraries and three departments. I love it anyway.
For all practical purposes, I am a professional novelist since I sold copies of my book, "Social Disease." However, I'm self published, and there aren't too many more goth festivals where I can purchase vendor space nearby. It's a novel set in a fictional goth scene.
The hobbies consist of a webcomic, Project Poppet, and two blogspot blogs, one about knit fashion and the yarnbombing movement and a second dedicated to horror movie reviews.
I also knit like a fiend.

2. Where are you from?
New Haven, CT

3. Who is your favorite author?
Me....just kidding. Actually, my favorite authors are Bret Easton Ellis, Dan Simmons and Cintra Wilson

4. What are your favorite films?
Bringing out the Dead, Battle Royale, Art of the Devil

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Mission UK, Nick Cave

6. At your funeral?
Carnival music. I want a carnival funeral with strippers.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
On top of a cute burlesque dancer or my spouse, if I get one

8. What kind of casket would you want?
Clown Shaped

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
For clubbing? Want to say a net sweater, black miniskirt and thigh high stockings with high helled pumps and an ankh necklace. At the advance age of 31, I like more simplicity.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
I was able to make friends by helping them reach the trapeze at recess. First grade is always a simpler and more innocent time where Rick Springfield and David Bowie were my first records. At that time, my school uniform was much more colorful too!

11. What's your favorite band?
The favorites are Sisters of Mercy, Rush, The Cult, Stabbing Westward and Garbage among others.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Bachelor of Arts in Art History and a Masters of Library Science and Information Technology

13. Why did you join?
I think I stumbled onto this site and noticed that short stories can be published.....which should kick start me into writing something new. Should being the operative word.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female.

I love Nick Cave. Welcome.

This place will mostly just distract you from your writing though. I only go on here to procrastinate.

You want to be famous? Check out the E.G.O. thread. Write a book about that--I ought to! Welcome to the threads.

I'm a writer and an artist as well. Art is my life.
So you knit.... like Nick Fiend?

Battle Royale, eh? That was a hell of a movie. Watching that thing for the first time was one of the most surreal experiences I've ever had.

Also, Nick Cave is (one of) my hero(es). We have so much in common! Let's be best friends!

I do knit like Nick Fiend on occasion, and if there is a DIY thread, I am all over it, procrastination factor aside!

Nick Cave, Sisters of Mercy, Rush and Garbage?!?!?!

Wow! In my book that's a fine list of choices.

Welcome to this place. I look forward to your contributions.

Welcome to Gnet.

Always nice to have another writer here. We have a few, of varying degrees of dedication. Although, I must warn you, I joined Gnet nearly 2 years ago also researching for a writing project and this place has done nothing but distract me.

I can't remember the last time the fiction section of Gnet was updated. I sincerely think it's just a ruse to get more members and that the people published are all merely friends of the admins. (Notice there are no submission guidelines or submit button.)

If you're self-published did you use a vanity publisher or a print-on-demand place? I'm always curious about those places.

I used Lulu.com, a print on demand site, for publishing the physical novel. The rest is my personal web publishing, photo comic, etc.
