What is controlled trance? And for that matter, how do you "control" a state of trance?

Welcome! Are there specific songs by Dark Sanctuary that you would prefer at your wedding or funeral?

There are two ways to enter in a trance state.Either you try to think about what you want to explore either you let your subconscious put what movie he wants. This is how the theme of dreams coincide with something real that bothers you and try to give you answers.
For funeral i would love the song Les Memoires Blessees. It makes me cry and feel powerful emotions.
For wedding i think Summoning of the muse..There are so many songs that i like from this band...It makes me feel .... rising. Also this one hell of hard question for me..

Well trance is "a half conscious state in which the ability to voluntarily function is suspended".

I suppose if it works for you, however, all the better.

Good choice from Dead Can Dance, that's an old favorite of mine.

No it's not daydreaming. The "trance" that i say is what tibetan do.The trance itself is like a powerfull dream and you dream too.Maybe you had some very real dreams that are so bothering that you wake up from them. When i enter in trance i don't go to sleep.I just sit somewhere quiet and i let my body sink.I want only the "dream" and not the sleep + dream..Also this deep trance state contains the time compresion that you may heard.15 minutes of "dream" may equal with an hour or two so after you wake you from trance you will have the feeling that you spend long time there but the watch will contradict ya..This things are part of us naturally to get answers and insight but society is afraid to teach this stuff in school for all of us because it makes the individual too powerfull and uncontrolable.Everything is in the mind, you can hide it and they can't tax for this..This is one of the reasons why i consider this human society a big lie and until i die i will always be suspicious.I recommend reading Arthur C Clarke short story "The lion from Comarre" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lio..._Fall_of_Night
good luck.

Glad to see a vivid understanding of it. I've gone through a few trance states as well at some points in life, although I wouldn't say I'm "too powerful" or "uncontrollable", that just sounds silly to me.

Like a form of meditation, in a way. But again, regardless, if it works for you then all the better.

Meditation is for preparing your mind.Meditation is very apropiate like the effect when you go to sleep. To actually make the sleep the mind gets calming more and more until you actually sleep.
