Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Most black metal wikipedia articles are written by kvlt whack jobs who think that audio cassettes are the epitome of underground music.
Sometimes, I'm really quite embarrassed to be a part of this subculture...

Besides, most Buddhist traditions if not all do talk of an "Ultimate Reality" not unlike the Tao, so mostly its just that Buddhists have a different idea of what "God" is and I assume any "atheist" Buddhists just want to make it clear that they don't believe in the Judeo-Christian concept of God.

I said SOME Buddhists... I didn't say all.

... cognitive dissonance is "big boy" talk for the funny feeling one gets inside when thier pre concieved notions of "how things are" are challenged by conflicting ideas.
The difference is subtle but important.
We could have been treating an issue that is related to the subject matter of black metal.

Hey Saya, you might like Wolves in the Throne Room. You'd at least agree with their politics anyway. Black metal with an environmental message, can't go wrong...

Anybody knows Deathspell Omega ? Very obscure underground french band, but not the garage-BM-true-unlistenably-bad kind of stuff... They mix neurosis-like post-prog-metal with ultra-fast blast-beats ; intriguing and very dark. I'm not usually a big BM fan, but they blew my head off.

I personally don't listen anymore because of the neo-Nazi allegations that have been thrown my way, and I naturally drifted apart from the music itself. Black metal ist krieg, but politics should be left out of the music.
I still love Wolves in the Throne Room and Marduk, along with Mayhem will still get played on occasion. Immortal's great too.
