I was impressed with Stewart's acknowledgment of coming close to losing control himself, of feeling the urge to cross that line into becoming violent towards another. The cyclical nature of this problem and the frequent evolution of victim into perpetrator doesn't get discussed often enough. Also of interest to me was once again hearing the link between those who serve as soldiers and domestic violence. Some day we will require our military services to train soldiers not just how to wage war, but on how to be peaceful when they come back home.
Kudos to Patrick Stewart for speaking to this subject and for sharing the story of his own life in spite of the personal difficulties apparent in bringing those specters of the past into the light.
