Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

Her music is alright. The instruments are played very good and her voice is pretty kick-ass. The lyrics kind of ruin some of the songs though.
Her fashion sense is to my liking and very pretty looking.
I actually have the Deluxe Edition of Opheliac, and from the interview and the bloopers (I'm just going to call it that) that are in the 2nd disc she seems pretty cool.

I like the Victorian/classic tracks best, but some of the other ones is good to as: I want my innocence back. Her fashion don’t appeal to me...nice at stage but nothing more than that...and to girly for my taste.

Emilie Autumn is a disgrace. The only thing she has going for her is that she's good-looking, and she spoils it by walking round with her head stuffed up her own ass.

I like her music a lot. I do think she uses her style to make people listen to her more, and I generally am annoyed by that. Music isn't about clothes, or at least it shouldn't be. But I genuinely do enjoy her music.

Well, first off I love the harpsichord, and she's uses that a lot in her music. Also, I love the roughness of her voice, and how she doesn't have "generic female vocals" as much. I love hearing remixes of her songs as well. There's one of the song "Liar" it's her and ASP and it is absolutely wonderful. Her lyrics are entertaining. The ONLY thing that annoys her about me musically is when she repeats the same word like 50 times. The only time I can understand why is in "God Help Me" because I think she really gets the point across, and she's not just repeating a word or syllable just to show off her voice like a lot of artists do,

So I assume you have no problems with the fact that she has never heard of the word "metronome", and also strains her voice to make noises it shouldn't, thereby creating a noise much like the cackling of a banshee hag would sound if it was done right in your ear and with a violin in the background.

Exactly. You know the ones-they wear douchie striped arm warmers and get their lip pierced and LOVE Tim Burton Movies. They'd wear ugly cheap clunky heeled boots because they thought it made them uber cool and they read johnny the homicidal maniac comics.
I use to do cruel things to those kids in high school.

I guess not.
I personally don't have a problem with her music. I kind of like it when female vocalists do weird shit like that with their voices. It's why I like Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs so much.
But to each their own, I'm not going to argue or get mad at someone just because they don't have the same opinion as me. It's the point of a discussion is to have different sides, and state opinions.
I think I'm starting to like you.

I really want to like Emilie Autumn, but the truth is she's the Britney Spears of the goth world.
The music itself is ok, but there is really nothing original/neat about it.
The lyrics are just silly.
Her voice is somewhat fresh sounding for people who have never heard Bjork/Kate Bush/Carly Simon/Siouxsie--and it's WAY overdone. By which I mean the effects on it are strong.

^ Agreed. I can tell what it is she's going for but she's trying way too hard and it makes it sound like shit.

She's pretty kick-ass, IMHO.
Her book is incredible. I would -love- for her to put it out in less expensive [and smaller] paperback, though.
I look forward to her upcoming album. =)
@Pineapple Whoa; lots of hate. x_x;;; Yeah, she's arrogant sometimes [The Atlanta show was halted in mid-stream because the folks downstairs were too loud for her taste] but given she's a schizophrenic bipolar nutcase and puts on one HELL of a circus act by "lunatics" [and the fact that most famous people in general are jackasses] I'm willing to let it go. [Also, she's admitted to being a diva in one of her songs...Shallot, I think it was..]
Honestly, I like the Bloody Crumpets around her more than her herself, as far as folks I'd hang out with, though.

I sincerely hope you don't literally mean that, because that would make you worse than them, actually. [I can not stand a bully.]

Wow so much upsetted ness over a media ornament. I think she fulfills her purpose as an entertainer.she has a lot of passion and has a pen for poetry but not lyrics. she's more of a raw entertainer no formal training or tigtening of her skills, and the diva aspect i think relates more to her getting too victorian. I am gonna need a bit more of an explination relating to the equivication to brittney spears. I dont see it at all.

Britney Spears is designed very carefully to be liked by people who wear hip-huggers.

I've tried to understand what's good about this woman but everything about her strikes me as faintly ridiculous.

They were always the ones in Japanese club who thought it was cute to use random broken Japanese in the middle of their sentences, calling people san and chan and adding stupid faces onto everything they wrote or typed, aka: ^_^
Can't stand that shit. Spilled pudding on their mangas and shit.
