A flippat remark, is hardly "encouraging" suicide. The defendant in the article actively convinced the lady to commit suicide, and even went so far as to give advice as to how she should go about doing it. Actively.
"Transcripts of multiple chat sessions — released by police and shared with the Ottawa Citizen by Nadia's parents — allegedly show Melchert-Dinkel attempting to persuade her to hang herself while he watched."
I udnerstand that assisting in suicide is against the law. I'm just saying that a flippant remark is not assisting suicide. Earlier you were saying that what was said was illegal. I am saying that unless you're in Minesota, it is not. Again, I am not disagreeing with the statement that "assisting suicide is against the law" I am saying, however, that a flippant remark is not even remotely assisting suicide.

Oh, i know, but seriously, after everything you've read, the laws gonna take every little bit of nothing and make it into something. its against the law, wehter its stupid or not, and yes, i do believe that telling someone to just go commit sucicde, then getting arrested, is completely stupid, but thats whereits going right now -_-'
i guessi hsould have made that more known too :/
the laws getting stupid, most people that are getting arrested right now, i do agree, shouldn't be, becasue they police were in suspision said person was doing said drime, and thats e xactly what flippant remarks do, gets the laws attention, and make it this big deal.

Yeah, but I'm the nice kind of sexist pig ... the kind that generally only acts like a sexist pig when the lady wants to play along.
