I was offered a vendor's booth at this Goth Fourth of July deal. I'm trying to decide if I actually want to have shirts (besides the ones for the event that I'm making) on hand to sell, or if I want to just advertise and take special orders. Decisions, decisions.

Do both.
Failing that, consider which will net more in the end (getting the name out v. possible immediate profit).
Either way, definitely bring a selection of the stock, and sell if someone makes a good offer.

So far, what made my day is that Pete lived. Our org. named him after Peter, Paul and Mary's "If I had a Hammer"... Pete is a cat who came to us becaus ehe was beaten by a psycho... with a hammer. And Pete, while missing his palate (Insert joke here about "hissth"-ing), and battered, is still a lover, still trusting. And in a week we'll have raised the money for his surgery.
No word about the douchebag that did this.

Coughed up some more of the blockage (The best way to describe it is halfway between scar tissue and overly thick mucus) I thought it was going to get stuck before I finally cleared it.
Not a pleasurable experience when you feel your esophagus get blocked.
On the bright side I can breath a little better (For now at least).

I will agree that that would be rather unpleasant.
However (medical police alert!)
Getting something blocking in your esophagus would inhibit you passing food to your stomach, unless it managed to lodge in the perfect place to impede your epiglottis. It would make much more sense (medically) if you had a blockage in your oropharynx or trachea, which would definitely make breathing difficult.
Ill be here all week for the furthering of anatomical knowledge.

A good meeting at the crisis center and afterwards four of us rushed to catch the last half hour of a panel discussion about the G8 maternal health initiative. Also, since I haven't presented yet I was told I just need to observe tomorrow, so i'm off the hook for a while

Finally got transferred out of the shitty security department to something that pays much better and requires me to deal with far less bullshit.

It was really great to see the kids react to the presentation so well, they really got involved with it and had a good discussion. Makes me feel better about presenting, I think next time I can co-present confidently.

Good work there, Molly. I hope he makes a good recovery and ends up with someone who will take much better care of him.

Today I got to see a guy that had ripped himself a 1/2 subincision due to a terrible accident involving him, his genitalia, and an armored vehicle. Quite possibly the most horrifically compelling medical trauma I have ever seen.

And my sympathy for viewing it.

There's a knitting group in St.John's! I've been looking for one for ages but for some fucktard reason never checked Ravelry, and the fashion school here even has a knitting cafe on certain days. It was really random how I found it, I was looking at a site that shows pictures of events around St.John's looking to see if they ever did post pictures of the Volunteer Expo. No, but people knitting apparently made it!
