Have you ever been so in love with someone, and it becomes so sick and twisted, that it becomes an addiction?
How do you get out of that?

If you asked them out and they said "no", then it's best to try and let it go. Take down the photos, put away the memorabilia, and try to think of them as little as possible.
Eventually, someone who -is- into you will come along, and they will be -much- more awesome for you than your crush could possibly have been. =)

Yeah. I remember when I was totally addicted to one of my girlfriends.
I really missed her alot, and when we were apart I suffered terrible migraines, nausea, chills, etc.
I tried to break up with her one weekend. I spent it by myself, locked in my apartment with a bunch of cans of Campbell's soup. I saw a baby crawling on the ceiling and then it turned it's head around and looked at me.
Later I had a moment of clarity while sucking dick in back alleys so that I could see her, and checked myself into a methadone clinic.
Been clean ever since.

If you have an addictive personality, you should get professional counseling.
Or, you could ask a bunch of anonymous amateurs on a website celebrating Gothic literature and culture what they think. I'm not sure that's going to be any help, but it's no more of a waste of time than being addicted to another human being.

I think this is definitely the case with me and has been for 3 years. And yes, I agree it is about growing up, because I am so reliant on this person, and they know it.

I remember Lindsey no matter how much shit i took from her or her from me we stayed together. Until i broke it off for undisclosed reasons. The point is i too was addicted to her. I neglected my job my finances my family even my roomates. The point is a person can never complete you. Only you can do that. A person can enhanse you but never at a detriment.

Infatuation can cause that.. we all have to learn how to deal with "new love" (infatuation). Personally I don't think there should be a whole lot of shame in it... I mean.. really when it comes down to it.. finding love had always been a top priority on my list... until I found it.. now keeping it is my tip priority. I may never be famous, I may never be rich, but I have the thing that matters the most to me, a deep and understanding relationship with another human being... and I had to go through a lot of shitty relationships to find it.. including some that were not entirely unlike what you described here.
