The Beer Thread
There are so many awesome kinds and brands of beer out there in the great wide world.. so many people, some who love beer and some who hate it.
If you love beer, what kind of beer do you love, why do you love it.. if there is a reason (like beer needs one *scoff*) share it.
If you dislike beer (you weirdo...) what about beer do you dislike.. what makes you want to spit this awesome brew out of your mouth?
Personally I love beer... alot..
Ooh.. and if you have favorite drinking songs.. share links or lyrics... yeeees...

Oh I am a quite a fan of bud light lime... nom..never had it with salt... how do you do that..do you put it in the beer or lick it off of your hand like with a tequila shot? And Heinie is always good with me..easy on both the taste buds and the checkbook.

Extra Dry Platnums... down my way they are called "night stoppers" because they are almost 2 standard drinks per bottle

or "pussy juice".
I wouldn't be surprised if a rapper comes out with an energydrink/beer by that name.

I don't mean to rant about this thread in general, but there are a lot of really narrowly specific threads being created lately that probably can be justified but because of their specificity and quantity are bumping mainstream popular threads off the front page. I'm going to go look for the "Sexuality" thread now and bump it so it gets back on the front page.
But I have to ask ... what about this topic is so unique that it couldn't have been discussed in the "What are you drinking" thread?

I like beer too sometimes. I like Corona with lime, Killian's Red, and the seasonal samplers that get put out by Flying Dog and Sam Adams. Wicked Ales are nice too.
I like beer for its 'lightness' of alcohol content. I don't always feel like making a cocktail. It is nice to just grab a bottle from the fridge and enjoy once in a while.
Ben, are you getting your boxers in a bunch? =( This thread is justifiable because it is encouraging deeper conversation, where as the "What Are You Drinking" is more of like a brief survey.

As I said, the subject is justifiable ... it's just that a lot of these narrowly defined type of threads like "What was high school like for you" have pushed more significant, broadly appealing and consistently used threads like "What did you learn today" off the front page. Wasn't really trying to pick on this thread in particular. Hell, I luv me some beer. But I've talked about what beer I like and why in the "What are you drinking" thread ... because it seemed appropriate there.

When I used to drink I was a big fan of German Doppelbock. I cannot recall any specific name, but I enjoyed every one of the Doppelbocks I sampled.
I was also a big fan of the Czech Republic's Pilsner Urquell.
For "daily drinking" I consumed Heineken, Coronas (with lime) and Dos Equis Dark Lager.
As for beer I hate: St. Pauli Girl, because it always has some unsavory sediment floating around in the bottom of the bottle. And Budweiser because it is the most boring of all American beers. If I had to drink beer from a 7-11 store it woud be Coors.

Beer is for pussies who can't handle whiskey.
Also, Guinness is a stout, not a beer. Beer is piss, stout is tar that's been through a bear's digestive system.

My all time favorite beer is Froch... it tastes like fields of flowers. I'm a huge fan of beer, and of flowers.. to combine to two, divinely enjoyable.

I agree with duckie about beer. If a man drinks, he should drink martinis.

Nicely put. Whiskey of choice?
With beer, I always go for the flavourful stuff, like Ringwood or Hobgoblin or this local Breton beer I had in France.
Round here, guinness is what men who feel the need to prove their manliness drink. It's fairly tasty, but unremarkable.
