Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

I finished this a while ago, sorry for the blur. There's little spiders on the buttons.

Did I see you at Ink N Iron recently?
PS that dress is cute. I wish I didn't have two sets of hips.

Necklace
I HAS MADE ONE.
Denim and faux leather backing, Real rabbit skull from etsy (result of pest control) , real greenfich wings (found it on the side of the road ) that I dried in salt, pearl bead eyes and plum ribbon ties . I'm really really pleased with it.

It's amazing Honeythorn, but how does it all hold together? Just glue?

My first attempts at DIY-ing stuff.
It was a pretty simple job. I just added studs (which turned out to look brownish in the photo, but in reality is silver colored) and pins. The smallest obscure pin is a Dead Kennedys button.
My second DIY job. I modified my $8 backpack by adding metal studs and pins.

The wings are Hotglued because they have almost no flesh left to sew through. I had to preserve them in salt so the flesh is all dried up. I may try a few discrete stitches somewhere underneath in the feathers if I can.
The skull is sewn on with strong thread.

What about going to a thrift store with an empty cup and finding a sweater sleeve or cuff that fits?

Yeah I think it would, unless you were cutting around seams.
Do you have a pattern? Looks simple enough but I haven't tried cabling before, looks like it would be good practice for me. If I succeed I'd totally send it to you.
Which reminds me I have a scarf to send to Corpsey...>.> I told him I'd send it aaaaaages ago. But thats a whole scarf! if it was small I'd remember >.>
