Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

I don't have any pics of mine to show sadly, I have a black widow from a side view, a heart in a spider web, and my own design a heart and a rosebud, with my fiances name. I want to add to the heart. Any suggestions?

I have 2 tatts, but dont have very good pictures of them. I got my first when i was 17 and kinda regretted it, but i had some work done on it when in the states 5 years later and now i love it. its a Celtic cross just above my navel on the right side of my stomach (eep for having kids at a later date *shrug* ill get it worked on if it stretches too bad) and on my upper left thigh i have a black and silver Trinity with "Saiorse Nó Bás" around it (which is Gaelic for Freedom or Death)

I won't give pics of mine because it's on my right breast. I did it myself. It's a blue flower, which unfinished at this point, looks like a kindergartner crayon drawing.

People don't realize how stupid and dangerous doing tattoos yourself is.

I've got two: A Hawaiian tiki on my left ankle and a Polynesian tribal shark on my right bicep. No pictures, though.

Ophelia, you can't be hardcore and alternative if you don't DIY tattoos. I know a "punk" who says so. And she rides a moped looking like an entire hot-topic shop so she would know.

Inner right forearm - Purple rose with a skullface in it's heart "growing" in and out of the skin down to the wrist.
Inner left forearm - In a winding curve from elbow to wrist " Darkness is a mystery of curves and lines " AFI quote .
Back of neck - AFI STS insect sigil ( a simplified winged beetle in a circle ).
Behind right ear - A bee.
Right shoulderblade - A dragon rampant facing in to the spine.
Lower back - Tribal pattern.
I've designed a unicorn for my left shoulderblade to oppose the dragon, and I'm having a Hawthorn flower and thorns behind my left ear to oppose the bee. All bees make honey, and with the thorns of the hawthorn (also a connection and symbol of faery amongst other things) ....yeah. You see?

I'm annoyed that you have to be 18 now to get a tattoo. Then again at least I'll know by then if I really want one.

Kinda late on the reply, but Chris Shiflett from Foo Fighters has one. It looked mighty painful but pretty cool.
...
I'm considering getting a tattoo when I become 18, so I'll have plenty of time to plan it. I want it to incorporate everything I love in life.

I was young at the time. Nothing bad happened to it, but it looks stupid, so I agree, it was stupid.
I can't wait until I can get actual real tattoos.

Yes, I am. But I was younger then. I was 13. It was during I'll just pierce myself and drink and have unprotected sex all the time era. Like I said, it was stupid.

Yeah, I was, but I am much better now. Now that I've gotten therapy and medications.

I have a pentagram on my inner thigh, and a djinn on my ankle. Next up is a dragon on my upper arm, a raven on my shoulderblade, a bumblebee on my instep and a quill on my wrist. I like ink...
Tattoos on bone aren't necessarily more painful than tattoos on flesh. I mean I didn't notice any difference pain-wise on either of my tattoos, so maybe that's a bit of a misrepresentation?
I've a friend who got Jack Skellington's head tattooed on the inside of his lower lip. Three weeks later he got into a fight outside our local, and the other guy bit a chunk out of his bottom lip. Jack got ripped in half. Unpleasant...pretty cool tattoo though!

I turn 18 next month, so I'm hopefully going to get one either on my birthday or around the time. I want to get a moth on the front of my shoulder, by my collar bone.

I think the quill is a really cool idea, but I think the dragon and the raven are stupid.
I mean, you're not necessarily doing it for this reason, but people who get dragons are always like, "I got a dragon tattoo for strength! And 'cuz I love Japan! STRENGTH!"
And it's like, shut up asshole, you live with your parents.

Not to make any crass over-generalisations or anything...try not to make assumptions about people's actions until you know why they're doing what they're doing.

And you actually believe that? Do you honestly think that's why so many have a dragon ?
