Jesus... It was an example. It doesn't have to be 100% correct about YOU in particular. Tell you what, replace Nightwish in that sentence with anything else and maybe the whole god damned point would sink into your skull.

Christ, you and SSJ_Goku's mother should have swallowed.

If goths have to be against organized religion (i.e. "freethinkers") then you're not going to find christian goths or muslim goths.
If goths have to like "gothic literature", you're not going to be talking a lot about Beat Literature.
If goths have to vote democrat, you won't find anarchists, commies, or the occasional republican.
If goths have to study liberal arts majors, you are prohibiting engineering students or nurses from being goth?

Don't you see that it's precisely by attributing more arbitrary definition than the base common factor gothic rock really is, you are actually just watering it down because you're saying nothing outside of your specific definition is goth?

Just look at OnyxBat's posts above and the pictures I placed. By her logic, am I supposed to like that painting of American Gothic?
I hate that picture. I find it boring. I'm into abstract expressionism and surrealism and cubism.... basically anything that doesn't look like anything in the real world.
Am I not a goth for knowing more art than just what is called "gothic"?
I'm pretty sure NOW you must see how that is precisely what would make us a bunch of ignorant word-worshippers (anything that has the word "goth" is "goth" even though gothic architecture and gothic literature have nothing to do with each other and even exalt different, sometimes opposing, values) instead of the camp-loving individuals goths really are.
I really do have to make my post more clearer when your around because you just switched it up.

I'm sorry I just thought it was directed to me because you started the sentence with "OnyxBat".

IT. WAS. DIRECTED. TOWARDS. YOU. You are a 14 year old girl and apparently you don't know exactly what you're talking about.

You guys make me feel so young *sarcasm*
and you said it was not 100% correct about me, so you assumed that I did think nightwish was a goth band. Hey let me tell you that I am not like SSJ who thinks MCR is goth and also any other teen.

Okay, fine. Let me make it really bloody simple. If at any moment someone likes to think or tries to justify goth as a lifestyle, they're a god damned gloomcookie.

The closest you're ever going to get with a "gothic" lifestyle is to live your life like a punk, actually. But even then, you'd just be a punk, not a goth. Ya dig?

What you're trying to do is make goth into something special and it's not.

The Batcave wasn't created to be dark and brooding or to cultivate deep thinkers. It was more likely made to cultivate loose tail and dark rock and roll.

Yeah what ever I dig, but it was not my intentions of making it seem so exaggeratingly special.

Sorry if I am sounding very annoying but that is just my natrual state to disagree with people and taking a long time to agree with them. Get it from my dad.

Yeah... We're people. We're as capable of immaturity as deep thought, just like the rest of humanity. It works on a microcosm as well as a macrocosm. I'm sure most of the deep thinkers of the world weren't stoking their chins all the time, and the ones who did manage to remove their facial hair by constant friction were probably boring as generic, common stone.
