JJ don't hold back and don't hide behind silly typing. Yes, there are people on here who will give you shit and yes, there are people here who will kick you when you are down but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be genuine and that you shouldn't put yourself out there. I know it can be hard but I can see you wanting to push through and make an actual connection. You don't have to trust us, that would be a hell of a lot to ask of someone new to the boards, but there are some amazing people on here, people who are incredibly intelligent and exceptionally compassionate, but most of those people are just going to over look you or write you off because of the way that you type.

That aside you will feel better letting things out and what better place to do it than to a bunch of people that you haven't even met. People who, if they judge you, you never have to interact with again. You can only gain from putting a real piece of you into your posts and letting us see at least a glimpse of your true nature, there is nothing to lose.

Check it out. At work, I have a tendency to be very loud and obnoxious, often at the expense of my peers and subordinates. I'm one of about 8 people that has been here for the last 3 years, so it's mostly okay if I want to exert my personality. The thing is, it intimidates some people. If I want to be respected for what I know rather then my spot on the pyramid, then I usually have to accept that it's not the Versus show and tone it down.

It's the same in any group dynamic, this forum included. JJ_Spade, if you want to be accepted then you have to get along with the majority of us. Right now, the easiest way to do that is be humble and just type normally.

If that is what you need to do in order to feel comfortable then continue, just know that it will continue to color how people see you. I hope that you can move past it but I also know that old habits are comforting, especially when you are in a new and somewhat hostile environment. Maybe for now this is the only way that you feel as though you can portray yourself but in the future I hope that you can let your words stand alone, without adornment, even if it takes a bit of time before you feel comfortable to do so.

From What I Gather She Is 16, And i can See The Road She Is Going Down, Shit, I'm Sure We All Been There And Most Likely Done It. Some People Express Themselves In The Way The Write; This Is Why I Appreciate All Words And Writing Styles. It Says So Much About The Person Than Most Realize. Like For Example, People Who Are Never Heard Type In All Caps...They Are Saying They Want To Be Heard, Same With Those Who Pick A Different Color. I Appreciate It Because...I Am Unheard As Well. Maybe I Don't Cap Every Letter, But Every Word. Also I Was Trained To Do That For Quick Reading In College For My Collegiate Skills. What A Class And Characters That Were In It. Anyhow, Everyone Wants To Be Heard. Why Hate It Instead Of Understanding Its Meaning?

Because when I look beyond the weird typing I see words that are more worthwhile to read than what comes out of the new blood around here, sure they aren't always amazing or exceptional but even a hit of intellect has gotten to be rare these days and she has shown she at least has that.
