It seems you're stumbling through many things here.

You hope you didn't blow WHAT for me? Oh, IT! Well, I'll keep the offer in mind for the future.

Use The Context Clues...A Good Way To Understand What I Meant By "IT." It Also Shows That You Are Wrong. I Didn't Make An Offer. Anyways, I'm Not Interested.

One: Clearly, that was a jest.

Two: You're a fine one to talk about missing the context clues. You've been posting blindly without a clue yourself. For example ...

Three: The blacktext label is used quite commonly around here for comedic effect. And everyone knows how to drag their cursors across the black space to read the "hidden" message. Everyone but you, who posted a big "ha ha ha, I figured your big trick out" message as if you were both making a brilliant discovery and outing a secret I was trying to keep. DUH!

Could you be more blandly dim? I don't think so.

Actually That Isn't How It Happened. I Wasn't Interested In The Black Text...I Clicked Quote And Went To Type A Question And There It Was In Front Of Me. I Didn't Say It Was A Big Secret That I Figured Out...I Said "I Can See Your Black Text." Anyways, I Don't Need To Ask The Question Now, It Was Already Answered For Me.

Yeah, I'm with namkcud ... you're boring.

And that posting with a capital letter at the beginning of each word - that doesn't show you have your own style. It's just annoying. But, I figure if you wan't to keep it up, I can ignore you easily enough.

Ben, where did you come from? I thought you'd dropped off the face of the Earth or became Mr. Doobie.

PS this thread is really hard to follow with Spade blocked, it's like watching Titanic with all the scenes that show a boat cut out.

PJ, it's good to see you too! I did disappear for a while, and for the same reasons I'm limiting how much of this place I ramble around in.

We won't explore my highly unpopular opinion of Titanic. But to use the analogy a little bit further, if this thread is focused primarily on any kind of boat, it's a little dinghy. And so, I'm troubled none by whether I can follow it or not. I choose not to be dragged along in it's wake.

1) There is a lot of space taken up with mindless prattling and pretentiousness. It bleeds all over what should be some of the more interesting sections of this place.

2) There is rampant redundancy and waste. People can't be bothered to look if a thread already exists to talk about what makes a proper gothic (insert whatever here) and so good ideas for conversations get pushed back while more fresh, mindless twittering fills the front page.

3) The ratio of posters who comment with purposeful, thoughtful intent to those who comment from a much shallower point of view is getting worse. I call it the signal-to-noise ratio. The number of people here whose comments I truly look forward to reading has been declining.

So rather than spending a lot of time wandering all over the place here entering into textual intercourse with people who either are too illiterate or too self-centered to provide rewarding feedback and conversation, I'm limiting how much time I spend here and which sections I am going to.

The ironic thing is that then we start all feeling like that and they win.

I've spent years trying to figure out how to "win" any kind of competition with them. Since they feed off of nearly any kind of attention, positive or negative, it seems impossible.

So a "win" for me is just ignoring them, as well as picking and choosing where and when I post. That's not the end of Gnet civilization.
