Interesting. The power went out for a solid 10 seconds, just enough time for me to start contemplating going home early but nope, it came back on.

Sol - I love it when the power goes out, and I love rain. Power going out is an excuse to light candles...
Such a stupid romantic bat!

Hm...it's after 4:00pm I should probably stop lounging around in my undies and put some real clothes on.

I moved back to VA this week. I gave up my job, my apartment, and my friend in Louisville to get treatment for my heroin addiction.
I just got out of inpatient rehab today. I'm doing day treatment (partial inpatient, 9a-4p) until Monday. After that, 10 weeks of Intensive Out-Patient. I am on suboxone maintenance (16mg/day) indefinitely. I am also in therapy with an awesome LCSW.. so.. yep. Things are getting better.

I'm going to be completely honest here.
Either I had the greatest oral surgeon to ever live, or everyone is a huge pussy.
This morning, I woke up in NO pain. That's right. I had impacted teeth, and the surgeon had to shave my bone away to get them out. I didn't take my motrin while I was asleep, so when I woke up, it would have been pain not helped by anything the very next morning. And I'm completely fine.

I really didn't feel any pain or unpleasant after-effects from having my wisdom teeth out, either. I know I have a higher tolerance for pain than some people. But I had a friend who was pretty tough too, and he went through hell when he had his out. Of course, the roots of one of his wisdom teeth had twisted together, requiring the dentist to get parts out with a hammer and chisel!)
Having a root canal was a different matter. I was glad to have those Tylenol 3's with codeine after that deal.

Watched a woman eat FORTY chicken nuggets, two large boxes of fries, a large milkshake and TWO Mcflurrys in Mcdonalds today. By herself, there was no sharing of all that food. Made me feel sick.

Ugh, my best friend's fiance eats like that all the time. Like, he'll buy a box of frozen chicken nuggest and eat all of them at once. I find it painful to be around him, his breathing is labored and he reeks.

Made me feel really sick, I really don't know how she could eat all that food. She seriously ate the whole lot in the time it took my little boy to eat his happy meal.

.
28 workers who stayed behind to prevent the Chernobyl disaster from getting worse died within 3 months.
The 50 workers who have volunteered to stay behind at the earthquake/tsunami-stricken Fukushima nuclear facility in Japan know they may be exposed to lethal levels of radiation.
Some acts of courage go unnoticed ... these shouldn't.

Speaking of which, would anyone be able to direct me to a news site that is being rational about the nuclear plant, and not fear mongering that this is going to blow the entire planet up?
I hate that being entertaining is more important than being informative.

Hang on ... I saw a good 8 minute clip from Rachel Maddow. I'm looking for it.

I nearly cried last night trying to explain the tragedy in Japan to my little boy. He's autistic so it's hard to get him to understand how things affect people other than himself but he said we should send his old toys to the boys and girls who won't have any anymore now that 'the gappy places broke and knocked over their houses'.
