Look what the bats dragged in: Julian

My "professional" life consists of full time employment in the hospitality business, part time enrollment in college for liberal arts and "life itself".

I reside deep within the annals of northern New England.

No favorite authors at this time.

Films are amazing, to many to name. Rampage (2009), Resident Evil, Hannibal trilogy, X-Files, Star Wars trilogy, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (new), The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, From Hell, The Ninth Gate, The Island, Dee Sniders's Strangeland, The Last Sect, Aliens trilogy, Outpost (2010) etc. Horror, Thriller, Suspense, Intelligent,

To be played at my supposid wedding? Enya, TRIARII etc

To be played upon my deathbed? TRIARII

A "good death" riding horseback, fully armed and armoured, charging into a battle outnumbered- an honorable death by the sword face to face with my opponent. Never will he forget my face!

No casket for me! Let's live like the Celts and die like the Vikings! Lay my defeated corpse on a Viking warship filled with brush, sail it into the sunset and let flamming arrows set it ablaze!

Favorite outfit: Honestly can't say. To indecisive.

Favorite thing about childhood? Hmmm I'll have to come back to this one.

Favorite band: It's changed alot over the years. Nine Inch Nails Rammstein then Psyclon Nine then Unter Null, Dawn of Ashes and finally TRIARII! A masterpiece unlike no other.

My education is just beginning. Earned my HS Diploma, and now I'm studying liberal arts. My majors will be international politics, European history, etc. Have a long way to go.

I joined gothic.net because I take a deep interest in the Alternative culture. Love the music, the style and the women! There's nothing more appealing to my tastes than a freshly buried corpse! On the other hand I live in a very enclosed community filled with "conservative" sheep banging folks! The majority listen to either country or rap and hip-hop- something I take no fancy to. The economy blows and i need to work on my degree and put money away, so ill be stuck here for awhile- need something to stabilize my sanity. This said drop me a limb or two! Can be a bi**h at times but who isent?

Well then in that case let theterror begin
The original StarWars trilogy had better battle scenes and equipment ( Star Destroyer, Death Star etc) no doubt, not to mention "mature" Darth Vador however... In the new trilogy we are privileged with the rise of the Sith Lord himself- from innocence to the darkside! Yes there was a lot humor in the new trilogy, but underneath were several more dark themes and references. Like when Aniken slaughters the sand people. Later on he kills off the other Jedi and finally force strangels his queen/wife! The sheer darkness of this really impressed me. Comparable to the transformation of Batman from a retard in grey spandex pants to the modern Dark Knight! Of course the old StarTs trilogy had some pretty impressive historical reference scenes like when Vador makes his appearance on the deathstar (or a capital ship, can't remember) with legions of soilders in German style helmets all lined up in formation! So ultimately hmmm on a macro level I'd have to say the old trilogy is better, but on a micro level the new trilogy is far better without a doubt!

Hmm where's the fun in that?
So now tell me what your viewpoint is regarding the two?
Ps: StarWars is awesome but the Hannibal trilogy is my prime!

I love old SW sheerly because it was the first(s). It's classic.
The new ones are far too obnoxious in some aspects, although they do add some good things in as well.
(To be honest, I can't name specifics right now, as I haven't watched any of them in a year or so...)
And of course no one can argue with the special effects making it look a whole lot nicer.

Hannibal tril. is good as well.
Your taste in film pleases me.

Fair enough. Sometimes decisions are not so easily made as left or right good or bad. As Christian Erdmann explains with the introduction of his latest album "Muse In Arms":

"MUSE IN ARMS IS DEDICATED

TO ALL NARROW MINDED PEOPLE

TO ALL THOSE, WHO ARE

AFRAID OF

ASKING QUESTIONS

AND THOSE,

WHO ARE EVEN MORE AFRAID

OF RECEIVING ANSWERS

ART IS NEVER ONLY

LEFT OR RIGHT

NOR IS IT ONLY

BLACK OR WHITE

LIFE IS NOT THAT SIMPLE"

My whole point being that deciding which StarWars trilogy is better is well- there is NO short answer other than its a dam good film/s.

Shit, and I was hoping to go to see a funeral pyre. Man that is how I want to go.

Good taste with the first SW trilogy - man who can forget Ford's butt in those tight pants.

Welcome aboard.

All this talk about StarWars makes me wanna go back and watch the entire trilogy from new to old!

On a second note might someone point me in the right direction on this bloody forum? Conversation went stale and I'm looking for industrial themes and the like.

I think you mean from old to old, right?
