Hey Ducky
You probably don't remember the conversation we had forever ago about the ending of my books and you said there were enough princesses around waiting and expecting the guys to be princes and have to live up to stupid expectations...
Well I did it.
There is no princess in my story, only a lot of heartache and love, but then those things often go together.
Totally messed my mind up trying to find solutions and work arounds to the traditional princess story but I did it.
Sorry don't know how else to get a message to you. I'm too lazy to use Skype.

Do you really think Ducky is stupid enough to reply to this?

Sigh... It was a message to Ducky about a conversation we had a million years ago... and has nothing to do with you Catch.
I really don't think, nor do I care if Ducky replies to it or not, my life is not going to suddenly end because he ignores what I've written here.. I was just being polite and telling him that I took his advice..
If you are really curious about what we were talking about it was around the lines that most young adult books and nursery stories have the young girl waiting for prince charming to come and sweep her off her feet...
So it sets up a lot of little girls wishing they were princesses and when the princesses do meet guys, they expect them to sweep them off their feet and save the day and rescue them blah, blah, blah.
Too tired to put spin on this, but that was the basis of our conversation and Ducky said that I should write a different ending on the story, make it more realistic because real life doesn't have happy endings.
So hurray and let this thread die the wretched death it deserves.

Catch - Ducky replying to threads about him has nothing to do with stupidity. It's what he's always done when he returns here.
So your statement is not only faulty but also annoyingly condescending.

Intriguing! A return to some of the form used in Greek Tragedy! I am keen to read it, if you wouldn't mind sharing it with us.
In our overfed, well rested civilization we need a tragic diversion, to replace the real danger that we are now protected from, to make us feel alive, to make us real.
One reason I love The Dark Knight is because in the end, the heroine is killed, the just is hunted as the guilty, life is unfair.
It is the 21st Century. It is time. Dionysian thought must be reborn!

Batty, it's a good post. I think Duck will reply to it if he comes around and sees it.
Don't let Catch troll you. She's eminently ignorable.

HP I loved The Dark Knight. It was an awesome movie.
The book is a trilogy and all three books are different. The characters grow and expand as they move through the books.
Happy to share, although my target market is the young girls aged between 15-20, so you're not quite in the demographics but I've had a few guys read the books.
Not sure about the greek tragedy.
I'll PM you the details when I self-publish it in a month or two.
Ben I'm not bothered by Catch. Seriously not bothered. I just re-read my post and thought that maybe Ducky would have forgotten what we talked about.
Timeless Don't tell me you own boots, because you will go into the super zombie butt kicker column in my books!

The Tale of Princess Miringue
Miringue woke up the next morning, head feeling like it was eaten by a wolf and shit over a cliff. The light bled through her paper thin blinds, saturating her room in a cheery bloom that tap danced pleasantly across her throbbing forehead. Totally pleasant.
Christ, what a night. She knew Daniel was kind of a party animal but not to this extent. Five shots of tequila, an Irish carbomb, and three beers left her recollection of the night a Dadaist blur of disjointed moments.
The things she could remember was that the band was pretty awesome. Joey Buttslut And The Two-Tone Tramps brought the house down in a drunken coked up frenzy. The bar was a rat hole, but they wont be doing business for a week at least now.
She could only remember that she wanted to get some dick that night with Daniel. Where the fuck was he? He should be right there in her bed. Didn't he constantly grab her ass in the pit last night? To be fair, she wasn't really sure who's mouth that was suckling on her earlobe while the band made the crowd go wild. She just figured it was him.
He was there last night and she could remember spots where they were flirting around while taking a break from the festivities. Hell, it's weird what she could remember. There was a blue skull painted on the wall of the bar and there was some guy adding his own brand of graffiti on the wall with his stomach acids, hurling his booze and lunch like some kind of raging modern surrealist. Fuck! She just couldn't remember if it was really Daniel macking on her or not. Why do we usually remember the little details but forget the big picture when we're drunk? Maybe that was Daniel in the corner.
God damn it! Where the fuck did he go? She swiveled around her room too quickly and sat down before the waves of alcohol poisoning took its boon on her. Her eyes continued to spin in her head and she was green all over.
He wasn't there though. What the hell?

AshleyO, Were you watching me last night? Because that's exactly how my night went.
Right down to the epic hangover I had this morning, but I did wake up with five dicks in bed with me, which might make me a slut, or perhaps just a little overly ambitious.

My mamma told me it wasn't polite to talk with my mouth full..... and I couldn't use handsignals, so it was down to a wiggle of a toe.
