Hoping that this storm either hurries up and gets here or holds off until I get home tonight (both of which are unlikely).
Oh and I'm not talking about Irene, that should hold off until this weekend, there just happens to be a bad storm brewing a bit west of here.

Hey tek! It has been a while, sorry I took a leave of absence pretty much right before you returned.
The rain held off but the wind and clouds came in, with a little lightning and thunder off in the distance, it was actually rather spectacular as I have never seen that kind of weather sick around for hours. The winds whipped up rather suddenly around 7:30 and some of the darkest clouds I've ever seen rolled in almost immediately, then I got a call to shut down for lightning (even if it is in the distance putt-put and all of our pools close). I thought for sure we were about to get pounded, it even smelled like a huge storm was coming, so I shut the course down as fast as humanly possible and went over to the recreation desk, pretty much nothing had changed by the time I was leaving work just after 10:00.

So it looks like I am yet again going to spend a while hoping that a storm holds off until I get home (this time it is Irene). It is scheduled to hit us around the same time that Jake is scheduled to get off work, hopefully it will hold off a little longer, though that will just be the outer edge of the storm so it shouldn't be too horrible to drive through (I really just don't want to have to ride home soaking wet).

Irene shouldn't be a huge bother to y'all. It looks like it will be a tropical storm by 2pm on Sunday. Just make sure that you have EVERYTHING that can be blown around inside the house(plants, clotheslines, yard tools, yadda). Anything loose can be picked up by strong winds and put through a window.
