I used to wear fishnet shirts over my bra or a tank top. Better yet I would cut a hole in the crotch of some fishnet pantyhose and wear that(with a bra underneath of course). Why spend $30.00 to buy something when you can make it for $5.00?

I wear fishnet tops under tanks, polos, yada yada. I have a lime green one, but I rarely wear it, now I wear my black lace one.

Go Tripp on yourself
For Christmas my aunt gave me an gift certificate to Torrid(aka:Hot Topic).I remember getting a pair of pants that lasted some time before fading grey-Tripp was the brand-only good thing to come out of that store.
By the way I'm not finding anything, maybe I'll settle for a Skinny Puppy t-shirt?
Can someone baby me on how to post a picture on a reply I'm so brainless...........

This was the advice I got from two different people today.
Combine the info and you'll be set!
"If you have a picture on your computer, in your My Documents or My Pictures folder, you can upload it to a site like Photobucket.com. That's the site I use, it's pretty simple to use. After you upload it, they'll give you a url. Copy and paste the url into a post on this thread."
"There is an icon if you are in enhanced mode for linking images Simply highlight the link from your Photobucket and click the icon with the picture of a little mountain in it. That is your 'Insert Image' icon..When you preview your post you should see your pictures show up."
If you only do what the first says, only your physical url will show up as opposed to if you couple it with what the second says.
Hope this helps
Happy New Year!

I have no idea about Hot Topic, we don't have it in the U.K, but I'm assuming it's a bit naff, yes?

If I knew what a "bit naff" was, I'd tell you. ^_^
It's a mainstream, wretched excuse of a store, that commercializes "goth," "punk," and "emo." It overprices it's already low-quality clothing, and for a store that claims to be devoted to music, has a very narrowed selection, and even then, very little is worth listening to.

Try their website, Nymphaea: www.hottopic.com
I maintain that their clearance and discontinued stuff can be cool, and that the store is still preferable to, say, Hollister or Sears.

Their "I TRY SO HARD TO BE DIFFERENT" teeshirts totally rock though.

"a bit naff" is usually British for "not very good"
Hot Topic appears to me to be, not dissimilar to someone I knew at school(if the store was a person) who had to ask for fashion tips.
*sigh
I kinda think the point is not where you buy the stuff, but what you do with it. It irritates me that people wear head-to-toe a whole outfit, without even attempting to put their own persnality into the ensemble. Tends to show a lack of originality.
I don't wish to be another sheeple* in the flock.
If I buy something from a store I dont like normally , who gives a flying f**k. If I see something that can be customised, again, who cares where it comes from.
*sheeple=a person who follows the unthinking masses, rather like um.....a sheep.

I guess we have come to the conclusion that Hot Topic is a bit naff.
Sheeple, eh? I like that...

Like I had said in a previous post, something similar to that had happened when they had opened a Hot Topic here in Misery (aka, Missouri).
All of a sudden there were "goths" as far as the eye could see, drenched in chains and covered in spikes, complete with ICP shirts! *winces from the shock and the pain* Perhaps they were, what do they call them? Ah, yes juggalos.
For some strange reason, the little idiots around here seem to equate "goth" with "juggalo". It really is quite sad, and quite shocking. *complete, and total shock*

Where I live, there aren't many goths, or juggalos for that matter.

I really appreciate it when companies don't place their slogans or logos all over their products. Tripp in particular is terrible about this, and they are huge supplier of Hot Topic. Chor is another brand that provides clothes for Hot Topic-- I actually like some of their stuff, and they're good about not pasting their logo all over their products.
To summarize my views on Hot Topic-- the store itself, and what is stands for, are both horrid. Their stuff, however, can be quite nice if you search thoroughly.

Exactly! People aren't cattle... why should they brand themselves?

That could be a new fad in body modification!
"Brand yourself with your favorite corporate logo! Hot Topic, American Eagle, Tripp, Abercrombie and Fitch, Wal-Mart... all available!"

HA HA! There's this lady who lives a litle ways down the street from me that has a sign in front of her house that says "Gone To Wallmart". You know, that idea isn't far off, CircleV... companies pay people big bucks to be driving/walking billboards for their products...

Just my opinion, but I don't honestly think it matters what "brand" you wear. Labels do not make a goth. Goth is a frame of mind... a lifestyle, not clothes and makeup. Anyone can look the "stereotype", but that's all it really is. Again, just my opinion *shrugs*

I just washed the pants (TRIPP) that I bought from Hot Topic for the first time. I didn't dry them because I was afraid 'something' might hasppen to them in the dryer. I still have to re-sew a small area that holds one of the D-rings on.
BUT I still kinda like my pants, everytime I put my hand in the pocket there's money in there.

But it sure does seem hard to go into any store and find something made in America. And whoever is making it in that foreign country is probably not being paid what they should. The workers don't necessarily have to be children or anything for it to a sweatshop. I understand Tripp is located in New York, but that doesn't necessarily mean the clothes are made their. Just as Lynyrd Skynyrd wrote "Sweet Home Alabama" even though they're from Jacksonville.
