Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

This Wreckage by Gary Numan.
Yes, I listen to a lot of Our Sainted Gazza. Especially when I'm engaged in nerdy pursuits.
Ha. Gothic Blues. One can only hope, Santa, they don't end up like this:
Woke up this evenin' (riff)
Changed ma name ta Raven (riff)
Argued with ma parents (riff)
They think I'm misbehavin' (riff)
(key change)
Yes, sir it's an awful' cryin' shame
When someone else on the forum's gotcha name

Song: Come to Daddy (Pappy mix)
Artist: Aphex Twin
Album: Come to Daddy
Moody, disturbing, intelligent electronic music. This track's very dark, very heavy -- perfect for listening to in a bad mood.

Song: To Cure a Weakling Child (Contour Regard)
Artist: Aphex Twin (again)
Album: Come to Daddy (again)
Still on this album and I love it. This track's very complex. There're things happening on every channel, noises coming in from every direction. It's listenable, it's elevating. The way Richard James assembles these pieces and then arranges them to invoke one different mood after another... if you don't have a copy of this album, damn well go out and get it now and raise the average IQ of your CD collection by a few points. Sonic therapy.
