A friend of mine's wife just left him. They've been married for like.... seven years or whatever. Had kids too.

Here's where it gets fucked up. She came out of the closet (finally). She's homosexual. Where we grew up, being queer would have certainly given someone an excuse to kick the shit out of you or have some church try to Hell shame you to being straight. She wanted so much to be normal that she thought she could be if she got married and had kids and all that. And you know... this is fucked up... you know.

I feel REALLY bad for these two people right now.

It's just... FUCK. Homophobia, hetero-normative expectations, this culture of ours... it fucking HURTS people. It hurts good and decent people.

Facebook really is the shittiest website but it is by far the easiest way to get in touch with a bunch of people you know all at once so I kind of have to deal with all it's crappy poor design since I'm selling baked goods to try and maybe, possibly, kind of afford tickets for us to visit home before getting sent off to Hawaii in November and I can't start a legit business since it isn't like I have a business license, haven't had a health inspection, and my food handler's certification is way past expired so I have to make sure that it is 100% clear that it is a fundraising thing. If I could make a fucking page instead of a group that would work a little better, except you have to pick a category and there isn't one for fundraising and they are really designed for things that have a separate website so it would still be pretty fucking awkward to use, but at least I could get a web address that makes sense so people could find it easily, which you can't with a group.

Blah blah blah facebook makes me angry.

So while rocking my register at work, some dude comes in buzzed out of his head on something that made him hostile for no reason. I get his smokes, he flicks off an old man in the parking lot before following him into the store. After the old man grabs his tire iron, junkie calmly gets into his POS Toyota, pulls up behind the old man in broad daylight with plenty of witnesses mind you, and shoots the old man's car, hitting the bumper before hauling ass down the street.

Good thing the dumbass only had a .22 and the bullet ricocheted. He wasn't too bright, the cops pulled him over and have him in custody. Now I have to go to the police station and be interviewed about what I saw sometime in the next week.

They can use photo-coagulation laser treatment to "spot weld" the retina back to the rear of the eyeball. It requires periodic treatment because it only lasts a few years but it is better than going blind.

I feel bad for waltzing in and out of a young woman's life, but I think it was in our better interests. I haven't spoken to her in days and I'm trying to think of a way to tell her without hurting her feelings.

He basically said you can't judge things done a while ago by today's standard, like the shit does that even mean? He isn't talking about something done centuries ago he is talking about things done in his lifetime, and things that society did not think was acceptable even at that time. It really is just a big ball of "what the fucking shit?".

So...like a month ago (maybe a little more) I cracked my nail and guess what? Now that it is kind of sort of growing out I managed to catch it (on my other hand while closing a ziplock bag) and tear it a good bit farther across. It hurts, the nail is still kind of attached a bit so I can't even really get at the tear to clean it out or put neosporin on it, and it is my right index finger and not being able to use my right index finger is a massive pain in the ass.

On the plus side I can still type pretty damn well without using it.
