Ouchh Solumina. Is it possible to soak it in diluted Dettol so the liquid gets in there? And clip off as much long/loose nail as possible then patch to prevent deeper tearing? She mentions specific products but before I kept my nails super short, I successfully did it by laying tissue/teabag on wet nail hardener then applying more coats to reinforce.
Aww, Ape Maybe superglue and duct tape don't work, but I can fix you with green stuff.
My rant: Share Ken Lay's article > immediately get derailed by 'what about the menz' and 101 statements about false reports.

Stupid edit. Come to think of it, if it's actually torn into the quick then clipping and covering with bandaid/liquid bandaid might be better.
Also WTF at Dawkins.

Wow, Acharis, that sort of thing is pretty infuriating. Especially when you get all the "what about the menz" crap. Stupid gender crap hurts everyone.
Thanks for the offer, but I'm gonna have to go under the drill to fix my ills. Hooray for modern medicine.

It's ok, I summoned some spoons and righteously schooled both comments. Just pisses me off because when you're constantly having 101 discussions and fielding derails you don't get to have the more complex discussions.
I can still do you a discount deal with a hobby drill and putty? *trololol*
Rant: Feeling ok, going out to eat (excellent) food then getting slightly triggered and becoming a panicky mess. Square one anybody?

I usually just link them to articles and tell them to go and educate themselves, and if they want to engage in further discussion that isn't peppered by ignorance, derailing and logical fallacy that I'll be interested in chatting with them then.. and then I go on with what I was saying.
I actually have lists of links in an email I've sent to myself so that I have access to it wherever I am.
I also have a list of about 10 research papers that I can recite the citations to by heart now... this is the sign of arguing about ****-culture TOO MANY FUCKING TIMES.

I mentioned moving out to SoCal where a childhood friend recently relocated to as a possible place to move out to after finishing my schooling and she basically said, "Don't move out here, since you're a tobacco smoker and we view tobacco smokers as the equivalent as crackheads." In other words, "Don't bother moving out here, because you're too much of my past and I don't want to be reminded of that"
WTF? Over? After nearly 20 years of friendship, she's going to pull this? When she was suicidal and placed into hospital treatment, I was there for her. Even when she revealed to me the self destruction she did to herself, I was there for her when her wrists were covered in half assed razor cuts I supported her. Even after she married an alcoholic schmuck who abused her and she decided to raise her daughters on her own, I've been there for her and her girls, she suddenly decides I shouldn't be in her life aside from the occasional E-mail?
In one of the few times in my life, I'm at a loss for words in my fury at someone else. I've given away relationships for sticking up for her as the little sister I've never had. I've put guys in hospitals for treating her like crap, while also showing her what a real guy will do for a woman he respects.
But after all this time and the blood, sweat and tears we've done for each other, "Don't come around, I'm making a new life and fuck off."
Seriously, what the shit? I don't want to call her a sociopath, but only sociopaths act like this. Only people who've been treated like shit since they were born decide to treat the people closest to them like this act like this doesn't mean anything.
I don't know what else to say, I'm at a loss for words other than sad, furious, betrayed and confused.
I can't help but mention how sad it is to lose someone you thought you knew, but in the end you never truly knew them...

Oh bollocks!
This morning I cried, while brushing my teeth. the other day, I cried when driving alone in my car. This sucks. I don't cry. the only thing crying gets you is a headache, and red blotchy eyes.
Mr Bat and the specialist are reducing his anti-rejection meds in the hope that it stops being toxic to his kidney. Two outcomes: one his kidney function improves; two, his body rejects his kidney. Wait time: 3-4mths.
oh and the control he thought he had over the situation, well that went out the window, when we found out his bro isn't compatible. So now I'm stepping up to the plate.
Also discovered he has avascular necrosis of the ankles - fucking wonderful. the same thing he had in his hips.
Word of warning to those who take steroids for a reason other than medicinal? Don't. It fucks up your beautiful, precious body.
Oh and we find out next week how much damage has been done to his heart.
Where am I going to find the strength?

I've been smoking for almost over seven years. This morning I coughed up black bloody mucus. I really hope that it's just from a bloody nose while i was sleeping, which isn't uncommon for me. But, it's still a scary thing.

I hate being broke when I'm supposed to give someone a gift. My friend is having a baby shower Saturday and at this point basically all of our money is being saved up to afford to go home before we get stationed even farther from home (which I'm still pretty sure we wont be able to do unless family pick up about half of the cost).
I was thinking of maybe making a baby blanket but all of the yarn I have right is either not soft enough for a baby or not machine washable (which you really, really want a baby blanket to be).
I'm going to make cupcakes so at least I wont be showing up completely empty handed but I still feel like a bum for not getting something for, ya know, the baby.
I guess I could make a few bath products, something soothing/calming/stress relieving. Moms with new babies need those so that makes them a good baby shower gift, right? I think I have all of the ingredients on hand and I could use some of my Halloween jars that haven't been painted yet, but I don't have a basket or box to put them in. Oh well at least it's something.

I hear you! My roommate's birthday is coming up and I want to get her something extra nice because she's the reason I got my new job, but I gotta wait til the paycheck that comes two days after her actual birthday. I let her know so I still feel bad.
My BFF is pregnant and I was planning to get her nice soaps and lotions and stuff for Christmas, so I think that's a great idea. I think too that most people will bring stuff for the baby but not much for the mother. There's a gift basket I want to give my friend that has nipple balm in it which I think is hilarious, but my mom said she would have killed for something like that XD

So today I tried to get help for my sleep and panic attacks that have been bothering me since my first deployment. I'm not surprised how it went but it still pisses me off.

I'm sorry V. Are you mad because the help you're getting is aggravating or because it's difficult to get any treatment? Both are 100% understandable, especially when dealing with the military, which is kind of shit when it comes to the mental health and well being of service members.
Saya apparently baby's can really tear up your nips while they feed, some nips even end up getting scabs (mine hurt just thinking about it) so I guess nipple butter would be kind of awesome. I looked around online and found out that some of the stuff I make is actually good for babies too, for example the oat bath is good for preventing and soothing diaper rash, so it turns out I have a couple of things for mom and a few for her and baby.
That being said I still have a rant related to this shower gift. I have these Avery labels that I got ages ago for some forgotten project and figured they would be great for these jars. They have a website where you just put in the product number and it brings up the proper template so you can easily design your labels. The website part is great. Super easy to use, good selection of fonts and pictures, very user friendly. The problem is when you go to print. First off I had to fuss around with it because they printed about 1/3 inch to the left and 3/8 inch down from where they should have, it was annoying and ruined the first sheet of labels I tried to print on but I got it sorted and I still have plenty more sheets. The other issue I had was that the font did not print looking the way it did on the website, looked great online but there was no kerning in the printed version. Now I'm not sure if this is a fault with Avery or if it is just another manifestation of my printer's hatred of functioning properly. They still look okay according to Jake and my hand is still cramped from Halloween invitations so they will have to do.

Mental health can be a bitch, whether it's getting help or dealing with unsuitable help/asshats. Keep trying V-man!
Oww.. yes, it might not be the most glam item but give her the nipple balm!

The only thing you can do Versus is keep bugging them about it to the point where they know your name and everything is documented. Be sure to inform them it's not about sleeping pills or any kind of meds, but that you're looking for a way to treat your condition and if possible if they can refer you to an off post doctor.
I mention this because while in school several of my classmates were dealing with their own problems, but the VA was dragging it's feet because they hadn't properly documented everything prior to getting out, nor did they try any off post options they were offered.

That doesn't surprise me, either. Most people don't say anything for a lot of reasons. Between the time it took me to realize what was going on and the time it took for me decide that I don't want to deal with it anymore, I've seen a former ETS date go by twice. Most people don't reenlist at all so not shit nothing is going to be documented. I get the impression that your VA likes to pretend that you're an expert and don't have any reason to keep you from coming up on the net. Give me a fucking break. Why is there a time limit?

You've got me. I think a lot of it has to do with lazy staff myself who just don't do the job they were hired for. Then again, my VA's so over whelmed with four major installations, numerous retirees and the main hospital at Ft. Sam Houston. Most of the time vets are referred to some local outpatient clinic, but that's after fighting with the VA for months at a time. Many of my friends have gotten to the point of giving up.

The second. I'm just frustrated because I want to get it started quickly so I can't change my mind. It's not really something I'm super enthusiastic about and I can see myself giving up if they make it as difficult as it has been.

...I'm politically moving to the middle. NO. Not because capitalism has a point, but because there is ZERO discipline and unity in the left. The left wants more pluralism. The left wants more of a rainbow capitalism with a human face with a good bit of charity capitalism. I've come to realize that the left has ZERO ZZZEEEERRRROOOO hawkish thoughts. Oh. Rush Limbaugh or some right wing idiot is disparaging gays? Well let's not destroy that guy. I mean. He has a right to make the lives of so many hell by being a role model for poisonous self hating poor people who'd rather suffer harder if they knew a black boy could die for it.
I'm moving to the middle because even though I hold a pure HATE for the right wing of politics, the left wing has lost its fucking mind in the name of a loving brand of micro capitalism (damn any kind of socialism that could actually be tried).
Fuck it. I'm going radish. You guys let me know when another big ol' whopping feminist/lgbtq/PoC or Occupy protest is going down so I can invest in Crayola and posterboards in the stock markets.
