Are you saying its an illegitimate movie franchise? Is it a money laundering front or something?

Yeah it isn't high quality and it idealizes and romanticizes some really fucked up things (I mean the central romance is seriously abusive in every possible way) but that doesn't make it illegitimate, there are actually worse movies/books/tv series out there and I never hear about them not being legit but I hear it all of the time about Twilight.

I wonder why? Oh wait, no I don't. This happens to just about anything with an almost exclusively female fan base.

I also wonder how exactly a film franchise can be illegitimate.. o.O Unless of course we are talking about fake bootleg movies - which the Twilight films are not.

Azrath, might I suggest option D?
D: Tell him that you tried, but it just didn't speak to you at all, but he is entitled to his oppinion, just as long as he doesn't expect you to start liking it.

Seems more diplomatic and less likely to end in a shitstorm.

ALSO! My random thought for the day:
I just read a news story about a local "soup kitchen" for the homeless run by a charity organization. They had arranged for a traditional Danish Christmas dinner for the homeless, and then, yesterday some lowlife thief or thieves broke in and emptied out the freezer for food. That just... doesn't seem human. I cannot begin to grasp what goes through the minds of these people. If you REALLY want free food, dumpster diving is a much better - and legal - alternative.

Luckily for this story, an anonymous and charitable person donated enough meat to replace what was stolen, so they just need to handle the potatoes now. About ten people called in and made donations to help. So at least that restores some faith in humanity.

Charity-food thieves can go eat a bag of dicks. I hope they get food poisoning from it slowly thawing as they make off.

...I am wearing a light coloured work shirt. With a collar. Strangest feeling ever.

I painted to kitchen last night. I really, really, really like the color and I'm really, really, really happy that I decided to only paint the upper bit (there is kind of a bulkhead for the a/c and one above the cabinetry) because the color is really dark but it looks great in contrast with all of the off-white.

I have fully acclimated to the weather. I really didn't think it would happen so quickly but it did. It was 85 today, like it is pretty much every day, and I was completely comfortable, I even felt a little cold when the breeze picked up.

For 2 months I've been Mr Bat's legs. Looks like I'll be doing the running around for him for another month or three. It's not a rant, or a whinge, just a statement.

Moving onwards and upwards.

Uncle Phil was James Avery's character on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, who was all sorts of awesome and one of the best father figures our generation had on tv

I think my roommate and I are borderline alcoholics. It comes with being good at retail. Booze by itself doesn't always mean happy buzzes, I feel like shit right now, which is why I'm going to try smoking an entire bowl of hookah by myself while chugging PBR.

Stay warm Saya. And for that matter, everyone who doesn't live south of the Dixie line!

While waiting for the bus this morning, a man pulled up and asked if I wanted to "play."

Not sure if I should take that as a compliment or be offended.

^ I had something like that happen to me when I was in high school. I was in my car outside of a game room trying to decide where I was going to go next and some guy pulls into the spot next to me and rolls down his window and says "You want to get off?" I totally thought he was talking about drugs and I said no thanks and drove off. Later on it occurred to me what he really meant. I'm really glad I didn't say yes...

It's a boon to have your own washer and dryer. It got much easier to keep things more orderly when I got my front loader, and while it occasionally derps and locks the door shut after finishing it gets the job done.
