That might work if I was Austrian.

Just to quickly answer your question.

I haven't been in contact with her since she left. I have no number or anything. I'm sure she'll come visit someday.

And bad-ass as in she takes hits harder than her military guy friends, and also can drink me, (not Aaron though [I haven't met the person who can outdrink my other best friend Aaron]) under the table. An adventure seeker, a strong leader, all in a guy type fashion.

She asked for a belt buckle Christmas of '04 that said, "5 cents: Unzip, shake well, and enjoy. For internal use only." She left before I could give it to her. I still have it to this day.

I'm not exactly a girly-girl, and most of my friends happen to be male. I get ribbed a lot about being one of the guys, but I'm ok with that because it's where I am most comfortable. Unfortunately, when I do go out on dates I either get teased or my date gets taken for a "talk" by some of my more...overprotective friends.
Now, I can drink a few of them under the table, and I enjoy fighting quite a bit. But none of my boyfriends or girlfriends ever had a problem with the way I dressed, or acted, or my tendency to rough house. Of course, considering my last boyfriend knocked my tooth out, I might not be the best authority on dating and significant others.

Being a tomboy isn't a bad thing. As the wise EPS said, not liking "normal girly stuff doesnt make you any less of a woman"

Personally, if someone ever told me I was a guy trapped in a girl's body, I would ask them how big my dick would be if I was a boy.
Then cheerfully tell them to fuck themselves with it. Even if they meant it as a compliment.

I'm not too sure many of the gals on this site are girlie girls... Hell, I love power tools and wood working, I'm not to hot on Julia Roberts and House of 10,000 Corpses was light watching for my tastes.
I do have my moments, I like to be held and protected... but I only show that to my love. To anyone else I'm a hard ass "one of the guys" and I like it. The equality and respect I've collected has boosted my ego a bit, I've really learned to fend for myself... I'd say standing tall in a man's world has made me a better stronger person.

I like someone who is none of the above.
I despise extremes.
I don't want someone who is hung up on me, but I also don't want someone who will just say "Oh well." I'd like to know that our time together meant something. I don't need sobbing and tears, but I'd rather see something.

I'm all for blood and gore off and on, but I'm more of a comedy fiend. I was raised in a home with a sister who is a closet romantic, so I've been exposed to a wide variety of chick flicks... so I don't mind them, and in some cases I even enjoy them.

Besides, I'm more interested in intellectual content than the social conventions. If she can beat me in a battle of knowledge and wit, I'll probably be inebriated by raging lust.

Thats great, fenris I hope that was all in foreplay and you like that much pain Ive just gotten rid of an abusive boyfriend before he could actualy hit me thank god Im not sure whod have ended up in jail me or one of my parents first. As for being a machanic Id like to be (as a hoby) but theres no money for me to start and since Im in school still I only work till 8. So that impossible for the next few years unfortunatly.
Korava thats so sweet she must have ment alot to you that kind of pain sux the first time I cryed over a guy in like two years was over a friend going back to germany. I was so sad Im not the type to normaly cry but he was great. I still miss him to this day and that was over two years ago when he left (I was to young to know how to still his heart but I almost wich I had)so maybe hed have stayed. Edible eye you love everyone in your own way so long as they are decent people that says so much about your personality. Im REALLY GLAD I found this site and met everyone, to know that when I get home no matter what someone will be here and always willing to talk, Its great.

Wow, Dis, that just brought a whole new meaning to verbal thrust and parry.
::wink::
Unfortunately, Swt&Inc, it was not in foreplay. He called me a whore and smashed his fist in my face, and even I am not that much of a masochist.
It actually ended quite well, as he considered himself chivalrous, you know, one of those types who would never hit a woman? So now apparently he's going through some pretty serious self-hate issues, and I haven't spoken with, or seen him since. After he hit me I broke the relationship off by slamming his face into a wall.

Oh, I totally just got warm fuzzies. I made EPS happy by being violent!

Screw Dear John letters. I hate writing letters. And I'm not too sure he can read. I didn't date him for his..."intellectual capacities."

Wow. I just sounded like a slut.

'Twas myself. And now I shall unveil a secret that I have kept for a while...I don't work on cars, I work on airplanes. I'm in the military. I am certified on F-15C/D, KC-135, C-130, and H-53. I don't like talking about it so I never mentioned it before. But anyways, now you know.

I think a good starting point in answering a question like this is to realize that most of our perceptions about what gender is and isn't supposed to be is influenced by society. I, for instance, am a mechanic with 11 tattoos and 18 (currently) piercings. I don't wear skirts; in fact I will almost always be wearing a wife(man)-beater and jeans. I drink Jaeger, beer, and whiskey (except for now 'cause I'm preggie). In my opinion, this doesn't make me a man trapped in a woman's body - it makes me a woman slightly averse to accepted social stereoptypes of what a man/woman should be.

I think to say that a woman who is unfeminine is not really a woman implies that you believe women should be a certain way.

On the other hand, there are those who feel they really are the wrong gender - they honestly do feel 'trapped' within the wrong gender body. Many go on to become transexuals.

Just because society says you should or shouldn't be a certain way based on gender doesn't make you more or less of a woman. My advice would be to just be secure in who you are and avoid getting into the habit of labeling every personality trait. Don't make the mistake of rejecting your feminity just because you have more 'masculine' traits.

Don't know if this will help you with your problem, but I'm in the rambling mood.

The woman who is now my wife of 6 years moved into my apartment DURING our second date. We just clicked. It sounds hokey, it sounds goofy, but it just plain clicked: we met, and decided we wanted to be waking up next to each other, doing the dishes, and blaming each other for the weird smell coming from the fridge.

She hates romantic comedy as much as I do. She can't stand empty emotionalism or "heart-string tugging" bullshit. She likes making fun of bad zombie flicks. She loves good haunted house movies. Before we met she already owned every movie Ed Wood made. She can cover my back when I'm running for the flag in Halo. She loves the same books I do, similiar movies, similiar booze, and similiar music. The sex is just fan-freaky-tastic.

That's all icing.

The cake is that she speaks her mind and listens to mine. She doesn't put up with fakeness or deception, especially when it's her pulling some self-deception. She supports my dreams, helps me make them happen, but has her own. She's compassionate, sensitive, and the toughest woman I know because of it. She's got an intelligence, courage, and integrity that I honestly find intimidating.

In short, she was a whole person BEFORE we got together. She wasn't hunting around for "the One" to remake the matrix as he saw.... (sorry, couldn't help it). She wasn't looking for someone to make her feel complete, and neither was I. We were ourselves, and though those selves were by no means a finished product, they were in reasonably good shape.

Don't sweat the masculine/feminine crap. We're all a pretty jumbled mix of all of the above, different balances in different folks, and sorting out the pieces is all but impossible if you're trying to make the picture look like what you think someone else wants. Hell, THEY probably don't entirely know what they want.

I'm pretty masculine, but her gypsy skirt looks better on me.
She's pretty feminine, but she thinks Oprah is a plague.
Your genitals have better things to do than tell you who you are.
Take it as you will.

I think I just fell in love all over again...

.... *trying to resist* must not be mean....rrrRRR Screw your husband. Run away with MEEE!!!!

Whew.

Now that that's over, I'm not serious. Sorry, but I just had a bit of a moment is all.

On a more serious note, I don't think you should feel alone in your society/gender views. Like I've said before I've met many woman who have embraced a highly masculine personality. What's wrong with that? I mean, look at how many men have embraced feminism! A great deal more, but we forget to link the two in most situations.

The point is, there are a lot of people out there (me included) who don't just accept, but actually fully embrace and try to find people like you. Me, I love military women. Basically I look at it this way. A woman in your position (forgive me if I'm wrong) is very independant, and an independant person like me, admires that. I even look for a mate with those similar attributes. I don't see myself being with someone who is attached at my leg 24-7. If I'm gonna be with someone, I imagine I will still value the me-time just as much as I do now, and I want someone who's looking for that too, but at the same time, I want someone who can also look for, as I do, a soul mate who knows them as well as God himself, that we can share our intimate and most secretive feelings with.

Sorry to ramble, but once it starts, well...
