I don't know how old you are, but I'd guess you're a young teenager. So I'm not gonna just tell you your problem is bullshit and leave it there, because at your age, who hasn’t had a drama overload at some point?…
Are your parents being harsh demanding all A's? Yes, I think so, and I do sympathise. However, if you run away, you will ruin your life. Plain and simple. You'll miss the next few years of school, and good luck getting a job. (That's if you're lucky enough to survive that long.) My advice is to just say to yourself, "okay, this is what I have to do to fix this [pick up your grades]. So I'm gonna have a go." Like I said, I do think your parents are being a little harsh. But if they see you're trying, maybe they'll ease up a little. If, on the other, you run away, all they're gonna see is a spoiled brat who doesn't like to be told no. And if life on the streets turns out to be more than you can handle, they may not take you back - ever think of that? Are your parents perfect? Probably not. But if you try to meet them in the middle, at least you can rail against them with a clear conscience if they throw it back in your face. And - sorry to go all "old" on you - you have a roof over your head, access to a good education, and parents who at least care enough to make sure you damn well use it. On the balance of it, kid, things could be a lot worse.
Is it gonna be fun being holed up in your room studying? No, probably not. But read E_P_S's account of life on the streets. That sounds like a hell of a lot less fun to me.
Think of it this way: a year, out of your whole life, isn't that long. If you stay, work it out, try to meet your parents halfway, and pick up your grades, then this time next year you'll have an okay relationship with them and qualifications that give you a shot at a bright future. If you run away, then this time next year - presuming you're still alive - you could be anywhere: sleeping in a dumpster, turning tricks to survive, digging through bins for food which you'll have to pick the mould off before you can eat. Please think about it sensibly before you ruin your life beyond all repair. I know it can be tough being a kid. If it's any comfort, from what I hear it's not much easier being a parent. It's your call. But if you choose a shitty life over a shitty year, I'll be forced to concur with those who call you an idiot.
Teen drama happens. I don't think the fact that you considered it, necessarily makes you an utter waste of space, especially if you're as young as I think you are. But if you really think about what you're suggesting, then go ahead and do it after someone who's been there has basically told you it's hell on earth... then yeah, I'll make an idiot banner and wave it every time you post. Just sleep on it, for christ's sake. Think about it.

*rolls up sleeves and picks up knife and fork* No problem. I know what to do with broccoli that wants me out... had a similar problem with a swede once. I emerged the victor. Swede tastes like shit, but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm here in Minneapolis long enough to have a cup of coffee. Here are four Randoms:
1) My greeting here was "Caution: The automated walkway is about to end."
2) I was embarassed when I firsf encountered the giant bull wearing an astronaut's suit at Bush Internaional Airport. Here I found a giant bear catching a fish!
3) I was listening to the pilot speaking in that trademark southern drawl, and a thought occurred to me. Remember that twilight zone episode where the guy looks out of the airplane window and sees a gremlin tearing up the wing? What would the pilot play-by-play sound like? "Ladies and Gentlemen, weeellll, we seem to have picked up a little gremlin somewhere along the way. Nothing to worry about I'm sure ... but if you'll look out the other side, we're coming up on the Rockies ..."
4) I struggle with mild ADHD. What would it be like if famous people had ADHD? "That's one small step for man, one giant ... ooh, look, a rock!"

"Four score and seven years ago, our forefathers brought forth ... cookies! Who brought cookies?"
I'd start an ADHD Theatre thread in literature, but I'm pretty sure it's a three or four time gag at best before it starts running out of steam.

To Ben:
I'm actually pretty good at being able to tell the difference between bullshit artists and honest people. See, our system takes account of all the times they've called to make arrangements, how many times those arrangements have not been kept, how many times we've called to make arrangements, how many letters we have sent out, how many collection attempts we've made with a technician.
You take all those things into consideration, you look at the payment history. If they've made attempts to pay regularly, they're probably pretty honest people. If, like in the case of the woman I talked to, they consistently went without paying for 4 or 5 months, I have no pity. People know the bill is due EVERY MONTH. What normal bill isn't? She was trying to play the system and she got wacked. She deserved it and hopefully a lesson was learned.
Now for those people who are honest, I will go above and beyond to help them out. I've even gone so far as to covertly PAY a portion of a customers bill. Like a hidden angel. So I'm no demon, I just have a low bullshit tolerance.
What people dont get is that if they're honest with me, don't whine to me, don't lie to me, dont have an attitude with me, I'm gonna help them BEYOND what they thought I could do. But if you have an attitude straight out, It's not going to happen. I'm going to do everything within my power to make this difficult for you, cause you're making it difficult for me.
I've been in a collection hassel as well, but I was NEVER discourtious to the people I had to deal with. I don't understand the thinking of the people who are assholes.

Geisha, I'm with you 100% on all of that. And I'd have known you were like that, based on your other posts, even if you hadn't explained it. It's all good.

Hey back atcha Wolfmoon, you yummy mummy, you!
Cuckoo Update: George is still tossing garbage in the yard (I don't think that he will be able to stop doing this without intervention), but my new friend Betty at the property management company tells me that his niece and social worker have been contacted. I hope that he gets some help. And they've been really good about picking up after him. Things could be worse.
Wacky neighbors can be entertaining. Last spring, Pajama Lady came over whilst I was working in the garden, and told me how pretty she thought the flowers were. Then she said, "Oh, there's a squirrel- those pesky things. I have to be careful around them, because they get up in my blankets."
I don't even want to know what that meant.
I just smiled and made a noncommital comment like, "Mmm."

I just had to share this with the rest of you, so we could all point and laugh at this dumbfuck.
Police arrest man after recovering marijuana he had reported stolen
OREM, Utah (AP) — A man who called police to report his marijuana was stolen was arrested after police recovered the pot and invited him to come to the Public Safety Building to identify it.
Kory C. Tippetts, 18, of Orem, was arrested and booked into the Utah County jail for investigation of possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone with intent to distribute, police said Tuesday.
Tippetts called police Monday evening after someone broke a window, got cut on the glass and crawled into his home while he was away. He told police the only thing missing was a quarter-pound bag of marijuana he was selling.
Tippetts also told officers that a man called him about buying some marijuana earlier in the day, but Tippetts was on his way to work and told the caller no. He gave police the caller's name.
Officers found Richard W. Hight, 23, at his mother's home in Provo, where they recovered six ounces of marijuana. Hight had a cut on his arm and blood-soaked pants, police said.
He was arrested for investigation of burglary, theft and possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone with intent to distribute and booked into the Utah County jail.

Yes folks, this Fucktard actually CALLED the POLICE and reported his WEED as stolen.
Not only did he call the police and report his drugs missing, he chose to make this tiny mistake in a small, devout Mormon town in Utah. I've driven through Orem a few times, I don't even think unpure thoughts on my ride through. I don't want any part of the hardcore religious police department they must have in good ole Orem. Just say no.
But THIS friggin Tool, gets sloppy with his game, gets his ILLEGAL drugs stolen, and CALLS THE FUCKING POLICE IN HIS OWN HOMETOWN!!!
"Uhh Hi, I'm a drug dealer. I just got robbed. No Sir, All they stole was mah very illegal drugs. Yes Sir, I'm sure they were MY Illegal Drugs. Sure, I'll wait for you guys outside. "

Uhh Hello? Where were you when they were passing out certifications at " So you wanna be a Drug Dealer " Academy?

Silly man calling the police. If he would have had more time he might have given them a meat loaf recipe. What a moronic twat.
I am beyond tired, like not caring how I type tired. God I am going to crash. It looks like I am saving my wine for tomorrow.
