*squeaks* Leave the legs, wouldja? I kinda like 'em...
Seriously, that sucks. COPIOUS amounts of dick. I'm sure you're in everybody's thoughts, and just remember, there's more virtual chocolate where that came from...

I took a bit off your arm if ya don't mind.
I know it does, but I have been expecting it for years... Just the fact that it happens now and out of the blue... *sigh* Thank you for the thoughts and more thoughts (I didn't want to say prayers... opps) And for the key to the virtual chocolate factory.

Unexpected is the worst. But if it's any comfort, that can be a good (as these things can be) thing - my uncle also died of cancer, quite suddenly, and while everyone felt cheated out of time back then, now my cousins are desperately glad he didn't suffer for too long. I truly hope it will be a comfort to you one day. *big bone breaking bear hug*

*hugs back* He has been suffering for too long. The thing that really irked me was that they could have saved him... but because of their lack of knowledge and bullshit about there not being other treatments, he is going to die. How does that make me feel? Like shit. How does that make him feel? I can only imagine. Scared, relieved perhaps? I really do not know.

Jesus. That's harsh. Well, it's way beyond harsh, but I just don't have the words. That happens with terrifying frequency in this country - our healthcare system is shite - but it's something people will never, nor should ever, be able to accept. I'm even sorrier to hear that. At least he'll be at peace soon, and you guys can begin to pick up the pieces. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Oh, here's another rant-worthy topic. Flouncing.
To take Poppy Z. Brite's blog post for a definition:
Quote:
|
In Internet jargon, there is a phenomenon known as "flouncing." The flouncer is never content to simply leave a message board or discussion forum he finds disagreeable; he must conspicuously announce that he is leaving, detail the inadequacies of the other posters, bemoan the cruel treatment he has received, and, likely as not, sneak back to check the reactions to his flounce.
|
I could write a lengthy, articulate rant on the subject, but I get the impression I'd overdose on my own bile and vitriol... and would probably end up flouncing off. I think, on the whole, the definition speaks for itself.
Actually, it doesn't exactly enrage me. It just mildly irritates me, just enough to make me split an infinitive in this sentence. My next rant will be on the subject of splitting infinitives, 'cause I hate, loathe and despise people who do that with all my soul...
I think it's time for my medicine, nurse...

Flouncing. So there's a word for that! Good to know.
Of course, there's a word for EVERYTHING internet-related now. As soon as three people do something online, a new word is created for it. My latest favorite is "podfading."

One of these days there'll be a neologism without the word 'pod' in it...

so, whenever i read anything posted by you, i get an urge to toss my monitor off the desk in frustration and i don't know what to do about it.
your posts aren't offensive, per se - but neither are they, in any way, pertinent or truly acceptable in terms of their content.
i want to report them, but i'm at a loss as to exactly why - other than to just let the admins decide whether or not to erase your account.
you make my head hurt but when i say that it feels like i'm dissing a kid from the short bus.

Did you hear that Mary Kate and Ashley went emo? This makes me want to vomit. I haven't actually seen it yet, but my ex told me about it. Ewwwwwww. *shudders*

Well, they already got the malnourished look down. With a haircut and black dye job, I can definitely see this as a possibility.
All that's left is chucks, corduroys, undersized jean jacket, and a tin vintage lunchpail.
Yup. That's working out in my mind.
On the subject...
why do magazines call Ashlee Simpson a 'rocker'? Why? WHY!?!

they don't fall in love, darlin' - they're lust-filled and confused.
you're like crack, back in the early 80's - "try it once and you're addicted". remember that?
these kids get a taste of you and they're hooked. simple as that.

Sure they're malnurished, but not every malnurished, skelital, concave girl can be emo. They're far too transparent and kitchy...even for emo!

Aah, but see, in Hollywood all you have to master is the look!

Hollywood makes me cry rusty nails. Although I do sometimes wish I could make it as an actress. I don't have the "look" and therefor nobody would accept me for having any talent whatsoever.

No way. I totally disagree. While yes, most roles are taken up by a certain standard, there are all types of actors that make it.
Come on, like Steve Buschemi woke up one day and thought he was good looking enough to be in Hollywood?
I think you are selling yourself short if you think your success is limited by your ability to physically conform. I've never seen your acting but you're beautiful and intelligent, so I would hope that you don't sell yourself short.
So there.
