I would go with setting the room up with Gothic style Cutlary and Gothic plates, black candles in gothic style candle holders sitting at you gothic cob web draped table in your own Gothic Fucking Throne!

Who care swhat the food is.
Make the setting look gothic more then the food because the setting will be there still after you've eatten.
Oh and play some gloomy music too!
