Just gave away my last kitten. If anybody remembers, my "sisters" Isabelle and Elisabeth each had their litters on christmas day. 9 in all. I put them up for adoption just this tuesday and 7 of them were adopted out the very first night - 5 to one house, 2 to another. Yesterday was the 8th and now the last one, a boy that I thought would have a problem finding a home (cause he's not as social as the others, likes to play more than be held), just left. I feel kind of bad for the sisters, they're roaming the house crying for their babies.
I wish cats actually understood what we try telling them, beyond "No!", "Stop," "Get Down!" or "Come Here". All they know is that the kittens went into a room they're never allowed in, and never came back out. I would like to have kept them a little longer, and maybe spaced the adoptions out a bit further, to make seperation easier on the mothers. They're still full of milk, but the kittens were getting so big, no one was going to believe they're only 8 weeks.

Aww ED, I think I need to come over to your house. We could cry on eachother's shoulders over our recent kitten losses. It's sooooo hard!

Just had to see his little kitty face again! :-) He's so adorable!
Sorry to hear that you had to give up all your kittens, ED :-( At least you know they'll be loved and pampered, as all kitties should be!

aw, hehe. I didn't notice you giving away yours too. I would have kept all of mine, but I have soooo many cats already, not to mention 3 ferrets and 3 dogs. Way too much. It's like a farm here. Plus all my mom's cats and dogs next door. Then there's all the strays outside that decide they live here cause I feed them. Its a freakin kitten factory.

We only have the Nails, the mommy and Coffin, the kitten. My boyfriend, bless his heart, has allergies. To add two more cats just like that would've killed him. He's a sweetheart for letting me keep one. We could get another one after we see how he does with two. We're also going to get a boxer once this kitten gets closer to a year old.
This guy is my dream come true, he loves animals as much as I do. When I was little I always wanted a house that sounds much like yours ED. In time I think I'll acomplish that...
Deviant, your kitten looks a lot like mine.. and your foot is ethereal, like the rest of you..
Here's a more recent picture of Nails:

Thanks wolfie "them's some of my bestest friends in the whole wide world"
Eyes~ Thanks I love the name too, she's a very independent cat, I think of her more as a snow tiger then a little house cat. And I've been wanting to adopt a chiauhah(sp?) Those pedigree commercials are mainly responsible for this, they keep showing these two, Max and Gracie and they are sooo damn cute. The pics on here are further encouraging me.

that is sad. No I'm loyal to a fault and would never let a friend wind up in a shelter.

My last 2 boxers I got from Boxer Rescue. I'm a firm believer in adopting pets from shelters.

I like your dog, I wish we could get a closer view, though. The pic is not that clear.

My fishy:
first he was hiding:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...ishyhiding.jpg
then he got a bit less shy:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...e/fishfins.jpg
I'm just surprised that, in all of his uber agressive glory, he wasn't flaring at the camera...the little guy is quite intimidating when he flares, which is almost constantly (it can't be good for him to be wound up like that all the time, stressy fish can lead to dead-y fish).
For any who don't know about bettas, this "flaring" of which I speak is when a male betta flares out these fins they have at either side of their head tucked under their gill flaps. It looks similar to the concept of a frilled lizard when it does it's frilly thing. The tend to do it when intimidated/fending off intruders/attempting to impress a female betta (betta reproduction is some interesting stuff...)
