There is a bit of mystery as to why its called "Dildo", but the word meant lots of other things back in the day when the town was named ^_^ It could've been named after a type of tree, a peg on a dory boat, and I heard once that it also means "shallow inlet". A few times the people there wanted to rename the town but I think they enjoy the attention too much to ever do it ^_^
