Oh no I'm not goth because:

- I happen to happy and hyper a good deal of the time
- I wear jeans once in a while!!! Oh my God like it's a crime.
- I don't like metal too much. I am so not goth for that.
- I wear a rainbow necklace. Oh no, shouldn't do that.

I hate mall goths. They bother me.

And I am totaly not goth because (since everyone is making these lists I thought i might as well):
- I absolutely love my life
- I am obsessed with Garfield
- I have absolutely no clue whatsoever what Hot Topic is
- I do not watch horror movies and infact get freaked only be the cover of one.
- I love listening to old Russain rock-songs of the Perestroika time which are so fuckin not goth it would make one dizzy.
- I love going to snob clubs and shaking my booty

but otherwise, I just got a rather nasty shock, since in all other terms I'm sadly stereotypical...and that means damn predictable.

No one has told me I'm not a goth, but I have had to put a lot of shit from a nonetheless friend that says that I should "stop trying so hard on being goth, just be myself". Be myself, like a million and a half other kids?
There's more originality in labelling yourself because you fit the category than say "I'm not a label" like every other "punk" kid.

Kind of like those ones who say they're "every label" so therefore they have no label.
Thank (insert diety of your choice) there aren't many of those.

A bunch of emo's told me I wasn't goth enough because I don't shop at 'The Goth Shop' ( a shop in my town centre that is the only place you'll be able to purchase decent gothic clothing).
I have my reasons for not going in there. They over price thing by about twenty quid....and the fact that I'm scared of the shop keeper.... but if you met him you'd be scared of him too!

Hmmm... shall follow the example of listings.
I'm not Gawth because-
1) I don't listen to metal bands like Slipknot.
2) I don't self harm.
3) I do not suffer from depression. (aggression, though...)
4) I do not buy from 'goth label' brands of clothes.
5) I do not wear corpsepaint.
6) My hair is its original red and not dyed black.
7) I don't hang around at City Hall or New Spot (the Belfast mini-goth hangouts)
8) I don't go to the Venue (mini-goth bad-music/pop-metal night)

I'm not Gawth. I'm Goth, and that's a hell of a lot more stylish.

Yes, that is my point. Kids do seem to be on crack these days. Although yes I am a kid too.

Oh, deamme - I'm not Gawth either, because...

1) I'm pretty calm and serene person
2) I listen to almost all sorts of music... Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler, Lordi, NiN, Nightwish, Helium Vola, Funker Vogt, Gary Moore...
3) WTF is Hot Topic?
4) My most active hobby is judo, and I do other martial arts as well. (You don't believe how much BS I get about this! It's ridiculous...)
5) I hardly ever feel like sulking.
6) I wear jeans/camo pants and a dog tag.
7) I don't own a black lipstick (yet, though)

"1) I'm pretty calm and serene...." well, calm is a pretty damn Goth thing, because the traditional view of a goth is of a languid, elegant, darkly ethereal creature. But not Gawth. Oddly enough, a lot of spookies listen to NiN and Nightwish, and the recent Apop popularity has seen Funker Vogt becoming a recognised name amongst them. The mention of Dire Straits and Gary Moore would confuse the hell out of the babybats, though.

OMG!!! I'm not goth either!

Um... but why not? I thought goths weren't about exclusion, and that there wasn't a dress code... (insert other valid reasons here)

Apparently I am NOT goth (heh...mall goths--funny) because:
  • I'm Black (I have lost count of how many times I've heard--or read--"Blacks can't be Goths!")
  • My fave colors are something other than black, blue, and purple
  • I like rainbows, and flowers, and (OMG noes!!) dogs!
  • I will still climb a tree
  • I wasn't a "spookykid" (they're cute to me for some reason--like dolls)
  • I've been known to wear bright colors (Bright yellow Bob Marley t-shirt--AAACK!!)
  • I can't hold to one goth "style" or whatever... (hell, I can't even wear the same hairstyle for more than a month straight!)
  • I don't cut myself on purpose (however, sewing accidents are another story...)
  • I'm not Wiccan (but that truly is a most excellent belief system!)
  • FAIRIES ROCK!!
  • I only hate my life sometimes...
  • I have no talent for mopey or heartbreakingly romantic poetry
  • I like "non-goth" as well as goth music, and death metal... well... not for me.
  • (here's the kicker...) because I shop at HOT TOPIC--apparently only "posers" shop there!

The weird thing is the people I work with know I'm goth (more or less...) but they think I'm not Christian because of it!

Do they "lesbian" you for that? I like rainbows too, and back in high school whenever I had a rainbow on I was asked if I was a lesbian...

...and I forgot my other crime against Goth: the J-rock band L'arc~en~Ciel ("rainbow" in French!)--hyde is such a beauty...
