Not only that, but it's not the only definition of art. There are as many definitions of art as there are people who look at it.
If EVERYONE decides that something is not art, then it is not. If EVERYONE decides that Canis familiaris should no longer be called "dog," then it won't be. The Mona Lisa will not stop being a painting - will not stop being the Mona Lisa - but will simply stop being called "art," just like your beloved Fido will not cease to have four legs, fur, a tail, a head with snout and wet nose and sharp teeth.

Actually, the point of the Wiki quote is to show that if anything, the term has become stricter. However, it's only stricter in a 'the masses think so and so' way, and the definition hasn't changed.

art histroy section two says art is whatever the artist says it is - this definition can into circulation shortly after a urinal signed 'R. Mutt was entered into an art show around the early 1900s. aparently it was so shocking they wouldn't even name it in the papers. and while we're on the subject of art - seen any of mathew barney's crenmaster cycle [or whatever] movies? - it's insane once you find out what its about.

I said nothing about the changing strictness of the definition of art - only that the Mona Lisa fits.
In Medieval times, there was no distinction between craft and art (but that's possibly because the whole thing institution very tradition-bound).

No one said anything about likelihood of it happening. I agree that it's Exceedingly Unlikely in the Extreme. Since the entire world is not about to magically agree on anything, art will remain an issue of debate.
