MollyMac for the mother fucking win!!
Weather it was divine intervention to give me comfort, or the acts of you own will, you have soothed this heart of mine for a moment. The burden of religion is lightened on me for a moment.
Thank you, thank you.

Now THAT is Goth!
We see beauty where others do not. Are not bats one of God's creatures? Spiders? And yes, even the snake. So it is with the weed. By the way, dandelion leaves are good in a salad and in a hot bowl of pho. (smacks lips, thinking of getting some pho...)

Mother Nature prevails again.
Actually, I find dandy lions to be quite beautiful. They're nice to look at in the morbid art of the creator/s we call the world.

If God were real, he'd be a goth.
There's a reason they sound alike.
Was it not God that lived in eternal darkness for an infinity before he created light?
I bet you Rozz Williams has replaced the Holy Spirit as God's left hand for some time now.

Jillian, if you look at the bone structure of Charles Darwin it looks just like the bone structure of the neanderthal. And as for you KontanKarite, I apologize for making you mad but your post you left looked like you were still searching for God.

Orion, if you look at the bone structure of Charles Darwin, you need to stop desecrating graves.
You also need to read "Origin of the Species". It isn't what you think it is.

Charles darwin was also a sexist and a racist. He said that woman and blacks were not as evolved and will never be as evolved as the white man.

Haha oh Molly, you just put a smile on my face! Thank you.
Orion:
To give you some inside advice from a fellow Christian and Gnet member that you may find useful, if you think about it:
The members of this forum do not merely read or merely float through life. They critically analyze what they read, and they observe life's minutiae, and analyze what they see. They do not accept merely what someone says, they also analyze a person's motives for what they are saying; they are a highly skeptical and cynical bunch. Their bullshit detectors are highly sensitive, so one cannot simply preach.
You may want to try an approach based on living out God's word as an example, not merely cutting and pasting excerpts from the Bible in a context that is too old for relevance. Live it. Make it real and apply it. That is the best way to express His word. Jesus wants us to connect with each other, as well as with Him. Not just walk around while holding a sign saying "the end is near".

And Paul was misogynous and Martin Luther was antisemitic to the point of being compared to Hitler.

You recite, but you do not read. A person can be a sexist and a racist and still be right about their scientific observations. Personal beliefs do not affect scientific findings unless you are weak in both and need justification of emotion and edification of of a seventh grade education.
Even your base analysis of his alleged bone structure denies your faith as well as your racial and sexual pedestal- linking physical features to mental prowess is a pseudoscience and a cheap shot. Your blatant judging of others here and the shallow conclusions you jumped to thinking you were on the deep end deny your saviors widely accepted (yet unverified) notions and the basis of what you probably feel your faith epitomizes- A faith that must be so shaky that you have a need to convince others.
Darwin was not a Darwinist, and your god is not a Christian.
Have a fantastic night, don;t let the pitchfork jab you on your way out.

Oh noes, don't go. I love these conversations. I even defended Christianity in one thread.
You can check it in the Whining section and tell me how good I defended it.

I can attest to that. Jillian's defense of Christianity did happen.

You can't even begin to imagine the things I've found.
Let's put it this way and leave it at that and you and I can NEVER discuss these things again. You are where you need to be. I am where I need to be. I've been where you're at right now. I could be wrong, but in my eyes, you are not ready to know what I know, mentally and emotionally. You are not ready. But for your sake, I will say, don't force change and enlightenment. Not on me, us, and definatly not on yourself.
Aside from that, I can be cool with you. Hell, I can ever share some brotherly love.
I can't map the ways of divinity and neither can you, so don't even try.
God bless you and may the mother goddess give you comfort when your heart needs it.

I am not gone but I don't see what the point is since we won't agree. I have read many things by the way but no matter what I say about Christianity or evolution it won't matter. Even Jesus left Capernaum because He knew no one would hear (truly listen).

I truly listen.
I listen to almost literally everything I hear, analyze it (to the frustration of some of my friends who tell me I overthink things), evaluate it, reason it and weight it and deem it worth my time or not.
Christianity as a system of ethics that permeated the western world for over a millennium is well worth my time and admiration.
God, on the other hand, isn't.

Is that a fact? Huh. I don't recall ever reading about that in The New Testament. I suppose I'll have to look into it again. Then again, I only ever cared about what Jesus said and not so much what the followers thought after his death.
Wow, I really do not remember that part. I feel kinda bad because it would almost be like me trying to witness to you about the divine feminine. You may hear me out, but there's no way I could convince you otherwise. Your mind is made up and so is mine. See you on the streets of gold, brother.

My, how this thread has grown. (I kind of wish it'd stop. All this talk of Christianity, God and doom is really starting to bum me out.)

Oh Jillian, you'll be fine. Though yes, I suppose it sort of is rubbing it in one's face, but still, I feel it holds a lot of weight.
I would be sorely disappointed if Heaven was not as diverse as this world.
And Dax, you are not the only one. I too am rather bummed. Quite bummed actually.

That was a full on Freudian negligee and red fuck-me pumps....
The point is that we do not have to agree and some of us are okie dokie with thinking for our selves an not having you do it for us. What a fabulous pedestal you see yourself on.
Sorry we didn't change our minds and you didn't make quota. Maybe you'll get the toaster next month.
You don't get it. It is not about you trying to change our minds, you can't chang anyone's mind but your own. And if YOU do change someone's mind, and they did not come to it of their own accord, then you have only converted the mentally weak or emotionally needy.
Then again, a warm body is a warm body and their 10% adds up like everyone else's.
Do not tell your god to bless me. DO not tell your god what to do or assume that i either want or need it. Go Chick somewhere else.

As well as those who are so insecure in their faith that they need the numbers to back it up.
I swear, not every Christian is like this.
