Your good luck charm/Item/symbol to ward off evil.
From the film Constantine as the woman walks through the door she notices Symbols carved in to the door frame. These were to ward off demons.

Mirrors and other shiny objects were believed to deflect the evil eye
Symbols such as crucifixes, silver bullets, wild roses and garlic were believed to ward off or destroy vampires.
Cast-off horseshoes are often nailed up over, or close by, doorways, normally with the ends pointing upwards (said "to collect good luck" or "to stop the luck falling out"; but see Oakham's horseshoes). Model horseshoes (of card or plastic) are given as good-luck tokens, particularly at weddings, and small paper horseshoes feature in confetti.
White heather is often sold by Irish travelling people and Roma "to bring good luck". (Frequently this turns out to be not heather but white sea-lavender, a species of Limonium.)
In Ireland, rush St Brigid's crosses were kept indoors (in houses and animal houses) to keep away illness for the year.

What do you have that you believe bring you luck or protection?
In my house we have been having a lot of bad luck since we moved in. Water leaking, cracks, car got robbed, electricity playing up etc etc
I'm not going to say these things could of happened if I didn't have a lucky charm but it helps to think that just maybe a little charm of luck could have made things less stressful.
Then I found this...
I only noticed about 2 weeks ago that we have a horse shoe outside our front door. I noticed that it was pointing downwards.
I was superstitious that apparently if its pointing down its bad luck. So I turned it up the right way. Since then I believe there has hardly been any bad luck.

You were right to turn it around. All the luck pours out if its upside down, so the superstition goes.
I have a wooden 4-leaf clover hanging in my front window. I think they are good luck for our household, mainly b/c my hubby is part Irish. We also have clover tattoos on our chests. I also think the ankh is a good protection symbol for me. I've always felt a strong connection to it, and also have it tattooed on my leg.

I make little protection pouches when I feel the need for them. But that is only if I feel it is REALLY necessary. Other than that I carry a bag/pouch of very small crystal chips, Male and female (God and Goddess) stones, and my favourite Amethyst pendulum. I don't necessarily believe these to bring me " luck " but I feel better when I have them with me. And really that's what matters. If it makes you feel better then use it.

It's a Lebanese thing, but I occasionally wear a necklace that has a little blue eye as a charm. It's supposed to ward off the evil eye. Very similar to the Italian bull-horn, or the little blue beads people pin onto babies' diapers.

They also have them in Greece and Turky.
I used to have a blue glass heart with the evil eye thingy on it.
I dont have a charm that I carry with me to feel better or anything, as long as I have my phone and wallet with my cash/card in it I feel safe. Ironic that this would be the thing that I would probably get mugged for.
I don't wear jewlery so I dont have a charm. Although I usedto have a white gold chain with a pendant on it that made me feel ..better (?) when going out. I've lost it and im sure it has somthign to do with my bf's mum not likeing said pendant >

The necklace I got from my boyfriend.
Every day I don't wear it I have bad days. And when I do wear it I find myself having a good day and I feel pretty good. Plus, it gives me a feeling of security.

I don't really have something, but I do feal better when I have my necklace on. I also do things three times, always. When I check oil at work, I wipe the dipstick three times, ect, ect. Just a quirk.

Really? I didn't know they used it in Greece or Turkey. That's pretty neat how many cultures share the same beliefs.

I wear a bear carved out of wood that a very respectable medicine woman found for me at Gathering of the Nations a couple of years ago. Other than that, my tattoos are my symbols. Stars for direction, animal protection symbols, good and evil symbols, and my idea of what Death looks like. My buddy Ronnie and I both decided that was one tattoo that we wanted to get that was similar, with the same meaning. We've been getting tattooed together forever, but this was something that could connect the two of us. His is Anubis, completely ripped out of his mind, and forms his right half sleeve. Mine is basically a zombie cowboy, that is my calf piece. His gun comes around onto my shin. I think that is something that, when I look at it, it reminds me to actually LIVE everyday. My tattoos all have alot of meanings like that to me.

Wow. This post really made me think. I have nothing that I believe brings me luck. I hold on to a lot of stuff, but that's just the pack rat in me. I guess I just believe in me.

I don't believe in good luck, bad luck. I just believe that life can be a bitch, or a that really hot chick who winks at you, make you feel good.

I dont believe in that karma thing. You know, the whole do something good and good things will come back to you. Or how ever it's said. I gave half my first jobs wages to a woman in need so she could get her kids some gifts for xmas cos she didnt have the money cos she had to pay some rent bill that was over due (this should have been the sign to warn me). Anyways so I lent her the money and then 2 days later I got fired. THEN she didnt pay me back on the due date we agreed on. infact she was about 3 months late in paying me back. So from that day I never done a good deed as big as that.

I wear my medicine bag, my pentacle, and my engagement ring always. (medicine bag goes off for showering, because it's deerskin) I plan to get several tats, all with special meanings.
I smudge my room about once a month, and salt the door and windows.. a lot of "unusual" stuff happens in my house.
