Attention DirtNap

There is a dilemma which has arisen recently which I am sure we'd all like to see come to a mutually satisfactory conclusion. On one hand, the user "Juliet Bathory" has been banned and also happens to be returning continuously questionning the basis of the banning. On the other hand is you, who for some reason has deemed Juliet Bathory as having given you sufficient reason to ban her. I'm not entirely clear of what may have motivated you to this course of action beyond her thought to make another forum or even if there is a motivation that delves beyond this.

My thoughts, take them or leave them, are that you should perhaps try to seek a fair resolution. Rules ought to be utilized more as guidelines than as unbendable, unbreakable absolutes.

I'm not calling to question the validity of either of your arguments. You have engaged in a role of responsibility, either due to being a part owner or a friend of the owner, or both, or perhaps some other possibility not yet considered. As someone who obviously takes this responsibility seriously, it may be wise to consider not merely the quantity of members available in this community, but also keep in mind the necessity of quality.

In her time here, Juliet Bathory has proven, at least to me but hopefully to a multitude of others as well, that she is more than capable of being an extraordinary asset to the community as a whole. As far as users are concerned, in her short time here I've gained more respect for her than most other users (if not all) under shared time constraints. Where I'm going with this argument is the fact that I don't believe I'm alone in this. I believe there is a mulitude of other users who share a strikingly similar outlook on the situation.

I'm in no position to make demands, nor do I expect that you keep this thread open for any extended period of time, but I have one simple request to make of you as a member of gothic.net who is concerned for a decline in the quality of content that can be found on this site:

Please, consider her stance and your own and the possibility that most, if not the entire matter, consists almost purely of a misunderstanding. If you feel you'd rather not commit to such, by all means it's your choice to make, but I and I assume others would appreciate its consideration.

Thank you.

-Sean

I approve of this. We are all people of common sense, intelligence and manners, so let's prove it.

I agree. I've been consistently impressed with Juliet's intelligence and maturity. The site could do with more members like her.

Here Here

i really do agree on this matter but i am still a little confused as to why the first banning took place, i could not find anything to support DN accusations.
also is juliet on her third or forth user name?
that proves one thing, sheer detemination to be a part of out happy family.
so what's the harm DirtNap? allow her back for good.
we might actually gain a little respect for you.

Let's not try to move toward an accusatory mindset. We've had enough arguments lately; let's see where this goes before we get our panties in a bunch.

one thing i've always admired about this site - creative people can be themselves. sometimes that rubs others the wrong way.

i would hope that when someone not only has something honest to offer to this site but is genuine in his or her presentation and WANTS to be part of the community, it would be taken into consideration.

the genesis of this site dealt, to a large degree, with horror fiction and as such, horror writers are still drawn to the pages herein. most of us who do write, no matter what our preferred genre, would like to see this site return to what it once was - or even better, become something we might not have envisioned before.

i'd like to see members tapped for their talents and welcomed accordingly. there's quite a bit of it out there and right now, despite the fun we're all having with varied posts to topics as "friends", there's an undercurrent here of creativity waiting to be exposed.

please - take this offsite and discuss your points and reservations.

While many other have weighed in on the issue of my banning, I myself would like this debate to end. I never intended for this to go so far. At the end of the day, all I would like is to use my name Juliet Bathory on this forum so I can continue to be an active member. I am more than willing to let this all drop, or if DirtNap prefers, to deal with this privately. I have taken all of DirtNap's advice on board and in future will deal with any problems through the correct channels.

Thanks to Dis and everyone for their support. It was very unexpected and very appreciated.

Jeez, I really was gone for a while. Well, I don't know how it happened, but I agree with Dis, bring Juliet back. I enjoyed our conversations.

I agree. I also have respect for Juliet as a member of g.net and for her opinions.

She is a strong and wise lady who should be able to continue to visit g.net under her original registered name.

I hope this matter is solved justly.

That's what happens around here

After careful consideration I have decided to take the welcomed leave. I thank everybody for their support. You are a terrific bunch of people. I thought I could make a nice little home in here with you guys, but alas it appears I must make a nest elsewhere. Search for me on msn if you want to talk to me. It'll save DirtNap another edit. Bye one and all.

Juliet, it's better to seek a resolution than to walk away. Please reconsider.
You will be sorely missed if you go, and the next person who finds themselves in a similar situation might be able to work it out, using whatever mechanism of compromise or resolution you and Dirtnap arrive at.

In a site with this many users, that would greatly contibute to the community.

I'll respect your decision, but definately regret it if you leave.

I'm with Ghost on this one Juliet. Please reconsider. You are welcomed here, there has just been a misunderstanding.
