Drop Dead Magazine?
I don't know a whole lot about this magazine. I do know, however, that they seem to be a magazine dedicated to goth and deathrock.
But I have a bit of a qualm about it.
How do they support the scene in general? I feel, to an extent that drop dead magazine is really just a "How to be a modern deathrocker" hand book.
Chalk it up to my constant questioning of authority, but I have to wonder how long they'll be holding out like this until they become more like Gothic Beauty Magazine.
The thing that bothers me is that it's still a mass produced product. Granted, I haven't read it, but my town lacks a good collection of deathrock zines from locals. Not only that, but there ISN'T a goth scene in Louisville anymore.
Does this magazine feature bits of zines from other cities? Where do they get their info? Do they come to the people or do the people come to them? Do they rely on the information given to them from independent deathrockers around the world or are they telling the reader what deathrock is like the top down approach instead of the bottom up? Can they really be so reliable or are they merely creating contrived fans of the genre?
