Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

Calling all steampunks!
Old watches for sale!
Not pocketwatches, but some pretty cool ones from around the 50's.
If anyone's interested, let me know. I said I'd let Kristin have first dibs, but if she doesn't want them..
I will take pictures if anybody wants to see.
Price is very negotiable.

All right.. I will get them tomorrow. My camera is currently out of batteries, but.. I promise - tomorrow.
My mom gave me a huge box of my grandmothers jewelry, and I figured I'd see if anyone wanted the watches
Some are silver, some gold, some mens, some womens.. they're cool

On an only semi-related note, I'm planning a wearable computer in the near future, and have decided to try making a small bluetooth device housed in a pocketwatch; some version of display just to show temp, battery, and processor speeds most likely. I'll have to remember to post some images of any finished product.

Oh, I'd love to see. Although I might not be able to buy. Spent way too much money lately.

Do they work? I am interested in 'G', 'C', and 'B'.

The stopwatch works fine, and I'm not sure about the rest. They were in storage for over five years, so they may just be out of battery.
I'd like 25 for the stopwatch, and 15 for the rest. I'd also be willing to do a trade of sorts.. I want The Hunger and Gypsy 83 off Amazon, but I don't have a credit card.. if you see where I'm going with this.

Korinna, no offense, but if you sell those watches for that little without checking them out professionally first, you're a dumbfuck.
I'm not saying you HAVEN'T done that, but a well made watch from the 50s in good condition is probably worth WAY more than $15.

you'd be surprised. I have a 50's era Hamilton, with 18 diamonds on it, (real, I've had them checked out at a jeweler's, and the watch appraised). The watch is appraised at about 300.00, shops will pay about 125 for it, but not for the watch, for the diamonds to put into something else. It keeps time accurately and is in pristine condition.
Still though, have them checked out first, you never know, it could be like something profiled on antiques roadshow

I'd honestly rather give them up for 15 to someone who will actually use them instead of a collector for hundreds, who would just put them on a shelf. Plus, you guys are friends
I need to get a ring sized though, so when I go to the jewelers this weekend, I will take the watches.

Shit, dude. I want F, G, D and H. If you're seriously planning on selling those things for $15 and $25, I'm all for it.

Then as your friend, get them appraised first. Friends would want what's best for you.

Even though I'm not into steampunk fashion, those are some interesting watches.
