If the separatists win, they WILL seek to take the rest of Georgia with them I'm sure.

I kinda doubt that the US will get involved directly, though.

The Russians have already bombed the hell out of the place,it's just a matter of time before it gets really bad,I'm talking Afganistan bad,at least that's what I'm thinking,Gurella Warfare has worked against larger nations in the past, who can tell right now,The Russians might end up with another bloody nose. (Drops two pennies in the jar)

I think you underestimate the Russians, Putin is still very much in charge, the man in office right now is basically a puppet, don't forget this is the guy who had nuclear waste injected into one of his former employees.

If the Georgians fail, it will turn out very bad for them, very very bad...

If anything this will test them as an independant Nation,I don't agree with what the Russian Military is doing however, and I think this might comeback and bite them in the ass later on.

Yea probably. I still wouldn't want the Spetsnaz on the other side of a battlefield though...

As a German and granddaughter to someone who served on the eastern front, I can tell you we were just a brutal.

Especially durring the opening of operation Barbarosa.
I remember my grandpaw Harvey telling me about the Battle Of The Bulge, what I got from it was that it was damn brutal all the way around,no matter which side of the lines you were on.

Could I ask a quick question?

No reason at all. I just didn't know and was curiously piqued.

A Georgian government source said on Sunday 130 Georgian civilians and military personnel had been killed and 1,165 wounded, many because of Russian bombing inside Georgia. Russia denied hitting civilian targets.

Not to sound like the person who is always bringing America into these things but...

Youse do know the history of Georgia and how America is and has been directly involved in this war already?

This all goes back to the days when the USSR broke up and the US backed the Baltic States various bids for freedom.

Since then America has been building up the arms of the former Russian states like Georgia, Uzbekistan, etc. Then, Georgia tries to make a land grab and gets caught by the Russians - thats what we just witnessed.

Why do you think the Georgians did that? Why do you think they had the confidence to try and take disputed land from Russia by force?

You can bet it was with American support and of course a few BILLION in US arms they have been sending over the past few years. Why do you think America has been pouring billions in aid and arms to that small country?

Those are your American tax dollars at work. Like in Lebanon - billions given to the israelis used against another enemy of America, while America sits back and acts surprised. America is armed, funding, training, and then giving the go ahead to start these conflicts. Then they act appalled when fighting breaks out.

America can't be directly involved, that would mean they couldn't sit back and pretend they aren't involved. That also means they would have to use their own forces, and their own country might be attacked. They use a puppet government to start a proxy conflict - that way they keep their hands clean and the only people who die are not Americans.

This is just another proxy war for America. Like Afghanistan. Like Lebanon. Like so many others...

Ever heard the phrase "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"? Half the Baltic states would still be part of Russia had they not had American support, and I'm pretty sure the Czechs could give a damn what our intentions were when we dumped money into their country and their military.

The only thing I can agree with you on is funding for Israel, since they turned out to be rather more psychotic than anyone could have predicted.

I hate sounding like the Nationalist I'm not when responding to your comments, but you're beginning to sound like a broken record.
