Battle Tested
Two meet in the center of the field, one German one American.
It was decided by their commanders,to let they're preformance judge the victor of the battle,it was a matter of honor.
Neither were armed and faced each other with bare hands, things were going to get brutal.
The Sarge popped his neck and knuckles, getting ready to square off.
The German Corporal stood cold and silent, like a statue waiting for the word.
They were equal in size and abilities, fight style and rank were the only seperation of the two.
Both removed their shirts and Helmets, then at the signal of their commanders, the fight began.
The German hit first and hit hard a crashing left hand met the Sarge's brow, then a right upper cut knocked the American off his feet,The Corporal
went in for the Kill as the Sarge shook off the the fast combination.
The German Corporal dove, acting quickly Sarge rolled out of his way and then was able to get up,The American backed away spitting blood and part of a tooth at his enemy, then with a twisted smile he closed the distance, the Corporal was on one knee when the sole of a GI boot slammed into his forehead,he toppled over backward, and Sarge went to finish the matter, putting a knee to the Germans chest, and taking a left handful of the Corporals Blonde hair the Sarge began to go to work.
One right hand after another found their mark until the Corporal was able to jam a thumb in the Americans eye,and gain breathing room, then delivered a jab to the throat almost crushing the Americans air passage.
Coughing and choking the American stopped, the Corporal was able to scramble away and stand up, the German Commander tossed in a Bayonet,
The Commander on the American side did the same for his own.
The German was first to arm and moved closer, the Sarge turned in time to catch the Corporals arm before the blade before it could make contact, the Corporal was thrown over the Americans shoulder,Sarge grabbed his own blade and thrust it under the German Corporals chin, the bayonet traveled clean through flesh and bone.
With two quick movements the head was removed, and staked on U.S. steel,The bloody and battered Sarge threw the head to the German side of the line, and as he turned to walk away,a shot rang out.
He continued walking, another shot rang out, with a last step the American Sergeant fell face down in the snow, the end of another battle, and it would be his last.
The fighting raged for another long month, when the skies cleared and P-51's began to prowel overhead, the Germans were in retreat.
The battle was seen as an omen,a telling of their respective futures.
(Let me know if this sucks or not, just be honest)
