Interesting idea. Were you keeping LifeGem in mind while writing this? It is a fantastic process they've developed, extracting the carbon from ash and creating synthesized diamond. One human body can create over a hundred diamonds.

Yes I was. Those who know of this will find that the past, though it's in our memories are more artificial than the future. Hence the diamonds in your skin being irrelevant. They can't possibly be as real as the now and the future, but they can sure make you sparkle.
