'Elo.
I'm bad at these introduction things, so I'm abolutely thrilled to find this handy dandy form...
1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I'm a writer and musician, primarily. I've just finished editing a gothic fantasy novel called Blackbird, and hope to get it published next year or so. I keep my writing journals with my almost obsessively, and it's one of the few things that actually relaxes me. Even if I forget to breathe sometimes. Ha.
My band is called Umbrella Beach, where I attempt to brainwash and subvert the other members into the gothic culture. d: I play guitar and sing(however badly), and we're about 1/8th through with the tracks for our first album.
I don't actually have a job, but I pick up odd things. I sell crochet clothing and whatnot online, I'm due for a piano teaching job, and I once was paid a quarter for giving my friend a ball-point pen tattoo.
2. Where are you from?
I'm from Virginia, USA.
3. Who is your favorite author?
Tie for Poe and Bradbury. Fahrenheit 451 is brilliant. My favorite book, seeing as I love books like they were my own kids. A while ago I tried to watch the movie version, but I started sobbing, so I had to turn it off. Second to Fahrenheit 451 is The Martian Chronicles, especially the story about the House of Usher (: Poe is my favorite for obvious reasons. If I ever get up the nerve, I'll try to memorize The Raven, for a video taped monologue.
Oh, and Twilight.
Yes, I'm one of -those-!
4. What are your favorite films?
Tim Burton is on the Genius List with Poe and Bradbury. Edward Scissorhands, Big Fish, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are some of my favorites. (Edward is so cute)
My favorite non-Burton films include:
A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Brothers Grimm, The Matrix, Boys Next Door, Our Mutual Friend, Bleak House, and Speed Racer
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Lots of Beatles. They do love songs well.
6. At your funeral?
Evanescence. Sigh. At the very least, In the Arms of the Angels, and Eleanor Rigby. If I ever have enough money, I'm willing it that my funeral will be some kind of gothic ballroom party.
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
Hm. Speaking philisophically, I'd like to die saving someone else.
Just for my own amusement...I think it'd be cool to go out kamikaze style.
8. What kind of casket would you want?
Black lacquer with green satin lining (:
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
Black slacks, black vest, white dress shirt, black and white stiped tie, black blazer, black boots, army green cabby hat.
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Love was simple and boys had cooties.
11. What's your favorite band?
My Chemical Romance
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Some high school. I don't really care for any arduous education, but I'd like to learn about business, and maybe get some lernin' in literature.
13. Why did you join?
I'm lonely.
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female.
Yay! All done...
before I finish, one more thing.
I can't seem to get my profile picture to upload.

Welcome! You might want to check if your avatar is too big in pixels or just file size in general.
Maximum amount of pixels avatars can handle on here is 80 x 80.
Maximum for the profile picture is 300 x 300, so you may have to edit the pictures a little bit lol.
It sucks that this site doesn't have an auto-resize feature.
Again, hope you enjoy it here

People always ask me that, and I'm never quite sure what to say.
I suppose something strong. It can be quiet, but I don't like music that sounds watered-down to me. I sort of get vibes off of certain songs, when it's the perfect formula.
Pardon me if I'm rambling nonsensically. I tend to do that.
For specifics, I suppose I like rock mostly. Something I can dance to, but not too peppy. Disney singers annoy me to no end. Peppy as in Snow Patrol, I guess. I like the song Dead! by MCR.

So you like a wide range of music?

Very wide. Sometimes it's funny, when I pay attention to the transitions on my mp3 player. For example, it might go from Dead! to Viva La Vida, then from Moonlight Sonata to Free Bird.
Thanks for chatting. Today has proven to be extremely empty so far.

Admittedly, I haven't listened to a lot of bands people consider gothic. Ye must educate me, haha.
I discovered Voltaire just recently.

Lol Scissor Sisters aren't gothic, i don't really listen to that much gothic music.
I just joined because I felt like joining. The closest thing I listen to goth is probably Within Temptation or Nightwish.
You may want to ask someone else about gothic bands and such lol, I really don't have a clue.
Now, if you have questions about metal.
Me, JCC, Wormboy or Necrophagist are all good people to ask
Also you may want to watch out, there are some people who can get a little narky on here.
especially about music xD

Thanks.
I pride myself on being a peacemaker, or at the very least, some intelligence in flame wars. I've had some trouble before with the music thing. Actually, if you go by official genres, I'm more toward alternative/punk than gothic.
Have you heard I Am Ghost? Not sure if they classify as metal, but they're quite good.

Oh wait, I remember them actually, very good band
Our Friend Lazarus Sleeps is my favorite.
They probably got lost when my entire computer died and I lost all my music xD
Took me about a week or so to re-download everything.

Although atleast ninetyfive percent of the members here probably know more about goth music than me I could probably give you some recommendations if you'd like.
Anyway, welcome to gnet.

You probably shouldn't try to brainwash or subvert people into an imaginary culture based loosely on a community about which you seem to know very little.
Look up Bauhaus.

Or you could look up Goth bands that won't put you to sleep like Speci-Men and Sisters of Mercy.

If Bauhaus puts you to sleep, you must have some rare strain of narcolepsy triggered by awesome.

Or impossibly slow and flat music.
