Black is Back for Make-Up.

MSN approves of darker, more dramatic lipstick.

From the article:

In addition to nails, lips have gone goth! Possibly as a result of our obsession with all things shiny and black, patent onyx purses and pumps, ebony jewelry, latexlike leggings and ink-colored nails have a cult following. Lips can now be added to the list.

Heh heh. This amuses me. I suppose Goths really -will- have to 'go white' if this trend keeps going. XD

Shouldn't this be in the fashion forum?

I wasn't entirely sure; I mean, it -is- in the news section of MSN..

Regardless, do you have any thoughts on it?

I've always thought black lipstick looked awful, so I guess I can't have an opinion on it.

Going white would actually be kind of fun. White hair looks kinda neat...

but anyways. It's probably just a passing fad.
But then again, there was this one lady on this one fashion show(makes a whole lotta sense, I knot) who always wore black nail polish and had a streak of white in her black hair, and she was up on this pedestal.

I dunno.

Bah, they can wear all the black lipstick or other "goth" things they want, they probably still listen to the top 40.

Oh no doubt! I have no reason to believe that this fad is -anything- but superficial. XD When winter hits, I'm sure the fashion world will be singing a whole new toon.

Probably, but whenever this happens a bunch of stores get "goth" things and they end up on sale or at Goodwill, which is where I'll be after it blows over.

Amen =D

Actually though, I have recently attempted the all white thing.
And it works well on my skin.
I purchase a simple white tunic and white skinnies,
then decorated with jewelry which I made out of mirrors.
I did my nails white, though I'm torn on weather to leave them alone or put a pearly white over them.

If this catches on where I live, it'll be hysterical. People have been making fun of me for wearing the black for years.

We won't need to change to white. No goth even NEEDS to wear black anyway. It just looks cool

It's just another bunch of people ripping off out subculture. Not uncommon. Emos, Mallgoths and even some metalheads already wear lots of dark clothes. Did we change to white then?

Just because someone wears primarily dark clothes doesn't mean they're ripping goth off... it's not like goth owns the rights to the color black.

And, yeah, anyways, black just looks cool.

Black lipstick looks absolutely awful and the only exception to this rule is KontanKarite.

Yep.

I might like to try it, just once, to see how it looks on me though. I'm pretty sure it will look god-awful.

No one is ripping anything off by wearing black, moron.
Plus, it's not like the goths of the 80s invented a totally new look that no one had seen any of the components of before.

I agree, and besides, I don't look good in white anyway.

This has nothing to do with goth at all, they just market it as "goth" because it's supposed to be trendy.

This is exactly my point. If one likes black and dark-colored make-up products, now is the time to get them! XD

The good thing about this it, maybe i can actually find some more black lipstick!!! YEAH!! It looks good with my light blue/silver eyes. I've been stuck w/ Black Orchid lipstick (it's like a really dark mauve) because I can't find any black lipstick outside of Hot Topic at over $8 for not-so-good lipstick. Everytime I go to New york I'd always buy SO much make-up. And Bloody Eternity, good thinking, I'll have to go to my local Sal-val more then once every two weeks!! ^^
It'll blow over in a matter of months, or even weeks.
