I have not had much experience with them but if im not mistake they dont exist anymore. If you are curious about it he has countless books you can read and some you can download. Also just by googling it i found http://oto-usa.org/ but be careful with his stuff his ideas werent the safest things to try. He was a powerful magician for a while until he crossed the line of sanity but its worth researching. From person experience ill say that he is over ellaborate and a bit excessive with his work alot of junk in there but hey if you like that its fine i guess. Best i could say is do your homework, learn different takes on magic might i suggest studying hermetics, Qaballa, egyption mytholgy and greek mythology because they are the highlights of his tradition. Dont worry about gothic people, wrong reason to join. Once you made up your mind then you can decide to join if you still even want to join an order.

I'm not going to swear to this but I believe the OTO has become just another cash cow mail order "esoteric" school. Even well meaning groups end up becoming mail order schools when they don't have enough members and the existing members are too thinly scattered to actually meet face to face. I'm sure that for $25 a year you can become a card carrying member along with thousands of others who--unless they are willing to travel--have never actually met another member. It's kinda sad, but I think the era of the big Golden Dawn style of esoteric orders died decades ago.

Very likely i encountered a few groups that do that its kind of sad. There is a welsh witch group to where most everything you do is through the mail and they want a 50 dollar fee. Then they charge you for everything else. I poked around a bit you can find all their information in the local bookstore for much cheaper. A good school ill recommend i havnt started it yet but i want to is greyschool. It seems a bit childish but they get very advanced it was originally designed for younger kids but they offer adult classes. To appeal to younger kids its set up kind of like harry potter but i have 2 of his books even though the set up is a bit odd and sometimes he will talk to you like your an idiot it does get into more advanced topics. Best part its not specific to any religion and has a board leading it for people from all different paths. If you look up who is on there you probably heard of them before if you study the occult. Anyways here is the site:

http://www.greyschool.com/

Long as they stay open ill be happy but they do offer courses in high magic and their prices are relatively cheap considering that they actually teach you not just let you do your own research.

I miss Weepingblood. At least she made up for her uselessness by being hilarious.

Depends on the person they are usually people who like to pretend they are more intelligent then they really are i havnt had much personal experiences with them but there are so many fakes out there who half ass everything or do it once and call themselves a mage.

Tonight I'm going to attend an O.T.O Class. I'm hoping I might meet some interesting people. I hope to meet lustful and sexy people. though I think I'm up for a dissapointment. Anyway I plan to carry it on to the end.

If anyone had been a member of this fraternity, they wouldn't be posting on the internet.

The people were very smart and cool. I had a good time. Not that big of a group. Had some refreshments. Saw the Temple where they perform the Gnostic mass. Interesting stuff.

A Gnostic mass is very similar to a catholic mass.
