Junior high students generally haven't seen enough of the world to be weary of it. If by some chance they have, and they're already jaded, by the time that they're 20 they're going to be so beaten down that no one will want to deal with them. Have fun with that.

Sure. I was just responding to the idea that cynical teenagers WILL be alone by the time they hit 20 because they must, by necessity, be deeply embittered and at the beginning of a decline into becoming utterly tedious people.
