Salutations...

Greetings & Salutations...
Ah, the obligatory introduction-what to say without boring the hell out of you all...

I'm an original Batcave-era Goth (God, that makes me feel old...), and am currently located in 'the land that time forgot' (Norfolk), after having recently relocated from Camden, London.

I juggle my time between working at the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary/Birds-of-Prey Centre with penning dark psychological thrillers.
In 2005 I was fortunate enough to secure a three-book paperback deal with Pegasus Publishers.

My debut novel 'Redemption' was released in 2006 to some measure of success, with my second novel 'Dominion' following in October '07.

The third & final contracted novel is currently progressing at the pace of an arthritic tortoise... ;-)

I look forward to bumping into you around the various forums & would welcome the contact either on here or via MySpace.

Welcome to Gnet Wayne. You're not the only Batcaver here. We have at least a couple others--but sadly I'm not one of them. We also have a few writers and wanna-be writers (I am one of those). Having a book already published puts you in the minority here, but it's a good minority to be in. You might want to check out the questions in the sticky post linked below and answer them. It's sort of our lame introduction ritual around here.

I bet we have more than one. Gnet claims to have 30,850 members but only a handful ever post. I wonder who all is lurking out there.

Ouch! lol
Saucer of milk for the Man in Room 5 please... ;-)

Re: Earlier link - I couldn't get it to work so I hope that it is ok to cut & paste on this thread with the answers you sought? Feel free to delete if not...

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job) - I currently juggle my fledgling literary career with the post of 'Administrator' at The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary/Birds of Prey Centre. I pen the blogs & 'blurb' for their website, newsletters & local press releases...

2. Where are you from? Originally Camden, London but alas I currently reside in rural Norfolk - a land where the pimp carries a sheep under each arm & the locals take the phrase 'one big happy family' to a whole new level!

3. Who is your favorite author? Thankfully I wasn't about to say Poppy Z. Brite! My favourite books/authors are: The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice , James Herbert-The Rats/Lair/Domain, E.A.Poe-The Murders in the Rue Morgue , Patrick Suskind-Perfume & Bret Easton Ellis- American Psycho

4. What are your favorite films?
The Crow, Interview with a Vampire, Dracula, Saw, American Psycho, Rogue Trader... Also anything with J.Depp/Winona Ryder in it.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding? Mmm, not sure on that one - I've only got Billy Idol running through my addled brain at present...

6. At your funeral? HIM (or for those as long in the fang as I - Blue Oyster Cult) - Don't Fear The Reaper

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die? Peacefully in my sleep after a night of passion with Winona Ryder & copious amounts of Rioja...

8. What kind of casket would you want? Not fussed to be honest...

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit? Long black velvet frock coat, leather trousers & knee high buckle boots...

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid? Comics...

11. What's your favorite band? Sorry, I'm going to be really cliched & say Mission & Sisters of Mercy.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
College - English

13. Why did you join? Seemed like a good idea at the time - that was prior to answering more questions than a subject of The Spanish Inquisition! ;-)

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender? Male, although often difficult to tell under all this hair & kohl... lol

Click the Boards link in the banner then scroll down and you'll see the stats at the bottom of the page. It now says 30,880 members. So we gained 30 members since this morning. Where are they all?

Welcome to GNet, Wayne. Fourteen questions wasn't so bad, eh? i think it was going to be more initially, but a few questions were trimmed.

i do recall Poppy making a few posts here. If memory serves, which it sometimes doesn't, when Gothic.net was a webzine at least one of her short stories was published here.

Hey welcome to Gnet. You actually seem pretty cool, so sorry for jumping all over you earlier, I thought you were a spammer. Good to see that you're not.
