dating a "Non-goth"?
I'm curious if anyone that would consider themselves "Goth" is dating someone from completely outside their social network. I'm interested in hearing how people react to you and if this causes any conflict in your relationship. I would love to hear from anyone who wants to share their story!

Well, TrueLife, as I imagine you must have noticed to some extent, most goth women are ugly chicks who, spurned by a mainstream fixated with beauty, attach themselves to an alternative culture in a desperate bid to find acceptance, and possibly to justify an exclusively black wardrobe, enjoying varying degrees of success in doing so. For this reason, women whose company I enjoy generally have no involvement in the scene.

Anyone that identifies with any one subculture, and lives within the boundaries/confines of that social construct is not worth dating anyway.

Amen to that.

Anyway, I've dated punks in the past. Everything was going okay, but after the relationship started to become more, they wanted me to prove something. I kindof resented it. Actually, almost tried once, but hated myself and realized the relationship would eventually end badly. Now I try to keep to people that are in at least one of my social outlets. They can be Goths, Artists or Environmentalists. If they also have knowledge of politics and lean towards a God based religion even better.

Yeah, I only date gothic vegan zen buddhists who are between the ages of 22 and 25, who are at least six feet tall, can cook, love falafel, can quote Monty Python when prompted, and have dreamy blue eyes I can get lost in. Of course if they are allergic to peanuts then it can`t become serious.
Yes that does limit my selection and therefore I havent had sex in a long time, but I see no reason to compromise my standards.

I think you're probably obsessed with someone. That's okay. Laws have gotten better over the years.

Nah, haven't met anyone like that yet. I'm just afraid of getting stuck with some overweight idiot who gives horrible fashion advice over the internet, you know?

Well shit.
nyways I've dated both. I don't really give a shit what a person listens to, and I don't give a shit what they wear, so long as it's not dirty or messy. Nobody's ever said anything to me, and nobody's ever mentioned anything about a "bad match" or anything like that.

Most goths I've ran into aren't very interesting unless you take them out of their scene and see them in the context of a person. Sadly, I usually discover they're pretty broken in some way.

O SNAP!
I would totally date you, but we live on separate continents and I only fulfill maybe half of your prerequisites.

I'm sure you're an extremely attractive and fascinating person, Corpsey, but I only date women.

You should have said 'different hemisphere'.
Just sound like it.

My current boyfriend is a goth, but thatīs only a coincidence. I donīt care what crowd a person hangs out with as long as they arenīt criminal, or neo- nazis or something. I go more for personality and chemistry anyway. One of my former boyfriends was an obsessed fan of Aaliyah and 50 Cent (and as most of you should know by now, I really detest hiphop and its related genres), which I think tells quite a lot.

I don't care what subculure I date. I like older men (30+, not THAT much older than me) anyway, and they are are too smart and old to care about that shit.
If only they would date me...

I thought it was obvious I was joking XD and if I recall your old profile picture correctly, you pretty much look like every guy I've ever dated.
