Hair Dilemma-Job?

So...I have one side of my head shaved, and I'm quite convinced that I would lookk awesome with a deathhawk or the like....But my mother keeps telling me that if I shave the other side I have no chance of ever getting a job because I will look too "threatening"

So basically, I want:
a. an opinion (should I shave the other side?!)
b. advice...from any of you who have mohawks, whatever, is my mother right or did you manage to get a job?

You can easily conceal shaved sides by parting the hawk down the middle. Also pulling it back and wearing wearing a wide headband of some kind can conceal most of the shaved sides, too. Just looks like a regular ponytail unless you look closely.

Your hair looks pretty cool with one shaved side so keeping it like that looks fine to me, but if you wanted to shave the other side it shouldn't be an employment-killer.

Oh and hey, just noticed you're also from Melbourne. In that case I can safely say there are plenty of employers around who'll hire you with hair like that.

Mother is still being a conservative bitch, however. the only downside of this is that she won't do my hair for me...now I have to do it myself. lol.

I think employers are generally no more put off by one side of the head shaved than by both sides shaved...

I kind of like it the way it is tho, I love the colour.

Generally mothers tend not to like shaved heads. One of my sisters friends shaved half of her head many years ago now and her mum had such a fit it was untrue.

Perhaps we should have a thread about what our mothers have to say about the way we dress lol.

I don't think your mom is being a conservative bitch about it. She just wants you to be okay.

Your mom's not against you, she just knows that people will ostracize you for having a mohawk. Get into an industry where that stuff is expected.

Your mom is right but that doesn't mean there aren't jobs that are lax about appearances. Your hair is cute btw
