Dear Grandma
I wrote this to help get over my grandma's death.
It was really hard for me.
She passed away two years ago from breast cancer...
Dear Grandma,
I really have no idea why I'm writing this letter,
but I hope it soon makes me get better.
I can't tell people how I really feel about all of this,
and the way it's you I always miss.
I never really thought this was the way you were supposed to go.
It hurt the family more than you will ever know.
But now I have to let out what was really going on inside my head,
and how I was wishing you were here and not dead...
In my throat I feel this burn,
and all my words will slowly turn.
In my heart I pray I'm wrong,
and my eyes leak all day long.
In my head I know it's true,
but I rather not believe death has came and took you.
Grandma, tell God to let you stay.
Please, please, I don't want you to go away!
I seriously do need you here.
Now how do I get rid of my worse fear?
You were my favorite person on this planet.
Without you here, I can hardly stand it.
I need you more than God!
My heart is now in a twisted wad.
Here comes all the tears,
that no one seems to hear.
You promised me you'd always be there.
This is not at all fair!
You were the only one who cared.
Now I'm alone and scared.
You promised me you'd buy me my very first car,
and always told me I'd grow up as a rock star.
Please don't leave me forever.
I need you now more than ever.
Grandma, I really don't want to see you go,
I love you more than you will ever know.
But I guess I have to accept it and say bye.
Even though it makes me cry.
So, I guess I should put a smile on my face,
and tell everyone I know you're in a better place.
I hate to pretend that I don't care you're not here.
The flowers on your grave are soaking up all my tears.
You'll never again tell me another tale.
My heart has grown sour and stale.
Sometimes I forget how much I actually loved you,
and sometimes forget about the things you loved to do.
Everyone tells me that you'll always be in my heart,
but it feels like you're a distant memory slowly tearing apart.
I do remember how I'd hate it when you kissed me and I'd try to run out the door.
But right now I'd do anything just to have another once more.
And sometimes I can still feel you giving me a hug.
I remember how I would only let you hug me because you were so warm and snug.
You were the one who taught me to draw a star,
but that yellow shining star has now turned into tar.
I remember your smile very clear,
and sometimes it'll be your voice I hear.
When I found out you were sick I was so torn.
All I could really do was mourne.
But I pretended not to care and I would smile,
but sometimes my smiles I couldn't fake after a while.
Everyone would sit by you in the hospital and say a prayer.
Deep down I knew God wouldn't be there.
But I made myself believe you'd be okay,
and you would get better soon one day.
I remember the last vacation I spent with you,
and all the happiness we've been through.
I tried not to think it was our last vacation together,
and after that you'd be gone forever.
But I made myself believe we'd be able to go again.
Even though deep down I knew it would hurt me in the end.
I remember how excited you were when you started to get back your hair.
I was so happy for you, but I also couldn't bare.
I felt so bad for you because I would die without mine,
but you made it through without a complaint or a whine.
I know you were in a lot of pain and I knew it was there to stay.
But I would of gave all my hair just to take your pain away.
You were the sweetest person ever and not fair you had to go this way,
and it's such a shame you couldn't stay.
Grandma, I will never forget you and I love you so much.
Even though I'm happy your pain is gone I will miss you a bunch.
I hope you're watching down on me.
I know you are even though I can't see.
The memory of you will still be going on and on.
The candle still burns although your gone.
